Plant Engineer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Manage all capital projects at Memphis facility
• Implement Maintenance Manager Plus for PM and asset tracking at Memphis facility
• Troubleshoots, repairs, renovates, installs, operates and maintains packaging equipment (liquid fillers, pumps, capping equipment, piping, compressors, etc.), facilities, fixtures and grounds.
• Scope of work to include basic installing equipment (pumps, conveyors, tanks, etc.), PLCs, piping (pneumatic, liquid), wiring/cabling, electrical, refrigeration, painting, assembly, and general repairs.
• Coordinates activities of outside contractors as needed.
• Obtains quotations and procures necessary materials to perform work
• Assisting the management team in implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service improvements;
• Identifying and resolving problems, determining system improvements, and implementing constructive cost-effective change;
• Write preventive maintenance plans and SOPs for all key pieces of plant and production equipment.
• Inspection of production equipment for conformance to process and packaging specifications;
• Maintaining, monitoring, and analyzing data on various routine tests and special testing initiatives for new equipment and product transfers
• Assisting the Management Team in the development and implementation of ideas and activities which will increase efficiency and quality while reducing cost
• Operates tools and equipment required to perform work assignments.
• Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with company policies and local laws.
• Managed all plant safety procedures and participates on the site safety committee.
• Lends assistance with janitorial services in the absence of Janitor.
• Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from
• Acts as project champion for new project/products, leading project teams utilizing the approved process.
• Assist in laying out new projects that will help the Preserve Memphis employees to become more efficient throughout the plant.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3-5 years of Plant Production experience.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow instructions and SOP's accurately.
• Ability to pay attention to details.
• GED and Technical degree
• Experience with writing capital authorization plans

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with basic statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and common algebraic formula. Working knowledge of computers and computer programs such as Word and Excel, and other software.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
