Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Plant Engineer at our Milan, OH plant. The Plant Engineer is responsible for overseeing/maintaining the maintenance and engineering functions for a single manufacturing facility. The Plant Engineer is responsible for all aspects of capital and maintenance budgets for the facility including but not limited to the following: Capex budgeting and management; development of long-term Capex budgeting (STRAP planning); monthly reporting for Capex spend; monthly review of maintenance and facility spend; equipment improvements, equipment reliability; supporting and driving productivity improvements, managing and staffing of the Maintenance department; and energy management.
Manage the Asset Care & Reliability (AC&R) Program for continual improvements to maintenance
Manages plant-driven capital projects including, developing and managing long-term Capex program and supporting, developing, and driving productivity improvements
Ensure compliance to technical specifications and contracts for equipment and services for all aspects of projects
Manage, control and report spend for plant maintenance budget
Manages a staff of ten hourly employees, sets direction and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, performance coaching, hiring, on-boarding, training and terminating.
Coordinate, review, provide oversight, and ensure safety compliance of suppliers and contractor activities for all aspects of the project on and off site as well as manage the external engineering resources and consultants as needed
Provide direct field or on-site leadership of internal project resources and external contractor and sub-contractor personnel and resources as required to achieve project goals and deliverables
Complete safety requirements as assigned and hold direct reports accountable for completing safety assignments
Prepare, organize, document, and archive project documentation. Communicate risks to project timeline and budget as needed.
Oversee the purchasing of MRO materials
Manage and control plant energy program
Oversee and coordinate Information Technology activities, acting as a liaison with the corporate IT department
This position is on-call and is contacted frequently during upset conditions
May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years manufacturing/plant engineering experience and 5 years of work experience in a leadership role
Working knowledge/understanding of Plant Maintenance Module, Project Systems Module, and Procure to Pay Module (Solid) -- Experience with SAP a Plus
Thorough knowledge of environmental and safety Local/State/Federal rules/regulations (Solid)
