RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the technical condition of production units in cooperation with the production superintendents
- Assures the defined technical availability of the production plants according to the production requirements
- Identify shortcomings and improvement opportunities in existing operation, then suggest and implement improvements while developing and delivering projects
- Fully responsible for planning, managing, and organizing the engineering and technical support to production plants, including maintenance activities, technical changes/improvements, project management and technical documentation
- Develop and/or deliver the repair and maintenance budgets and together with the production superintendent for the capital investment budgets
- Works with Engineering Assistants in assigned areas, provides him with leadership, guidance and expertise.
- Provides Evonik Corporation with seasoned process, maintenance and project expertise which combines mastery of process engineering with in-depth knowledge of the plant requirements
- Uses mature engineering judgment, creativity and foresight to initiate studies, projects and new developments and to anticipate and solve unprecedented problems with a focus on long term technical solutions
REQUIREMENTS
- University / Post Graduate (Master's Degree) or BA degree in chemical or mechanical engineering with 5 years of experience in similar role
- Experience with maintenance process on a large chemical or refinery site. Experience with Evonik's maintenance ERP System (SAP) preferred.
- Familiar with OSHA's PSM program requirements
- Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short / medium (TAR) timescales within the overall policy framework.
- Acts as the organization's authority and established expert to develop technical solutions based on an understanding of the chemical process, equipment and business environment and objectives.
- Uses expertise to act as organizational authority on planning, organizing, prioritizing, and overseeing activities to efficiently meet objectives.
- Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently on costing, budgeting while providing guidance and training to others.
