Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. is seeking an experienced Plant Engineer for its Wilmington, California Facility.

The Southern California HYCO Operations team has an opening for a Plant Engineer to support the four Southern California SMR plants in Wilmington, Carson and Torrance. Wilmington and Carson are connected by 28 miles of pipeline that supply hydrogen to six refineries in the Los Angeles South Bay area. The two Torrance plants are standalone SMR's.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Daily support of plant operation

  • Assist in gathering and analyzing of operating data

  • Participation in root cause investigations and CONC

  • Follow-up on open action items from ACE events, reliability assessments, Hazard reviews, etc.

  • Development, writing and completion of eMOC's

  • Support execution of small projects

  • Support SoCal pipeline operations

  • Support for plant outages

  • Participation in BSP process

  • Support water treatment testing and analysis

This is a hands-on position with time spent in the field working with the Operations and Maintenance teams. Candidate will also work with Commercial, GSS, and HSS support teams. Candidate needs to be a self-starter and be able to multi-task.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering

  • 3 years' experience minimum

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.

In California, the expected pay range is $73,200 - $99,250 plus bonus. This is the pay range that we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
