The Starbucks experience starts in our Roasting Plants where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering and logistics.

As a plant director, you will:

Set goals for the work group, develop organizational capability, and model how we work together:

  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

  • Support the implementation of Company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote Starbucks key messages and achieve a competitive advantage.

Develop strategic and operational plans for the work group, manage execution, and measure results:

  • Develop annual operating plan and budget, and quarterly forecast updates.

  • Develop long-term strategies and plans.

  • Develop manufacturing standards such as line throughput rates, scrap allowances, and labor rates.

  • Lead the overall operations of a roasting plant to meet cost, quality, safety, people and service objectives.

  • Plan and execute plant operational requirements to meet the Company's coffee production and merchandise shipping requirements.

  • Plan and manage business unit/department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.

  • Prepare, communicate and educate client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.

Provide functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:

  • Define, direct and execute innovative cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives related to the manufacturing process.

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and general safety standards, quality specifications, local and governmental environmental requirements.

  • Ensure food safety audits and other program compliance procedures and processes are maintained to retain plant's required quality certifications.

  • Ensure that the business units have the correct products in a timely manner and the exact quantity to meet their business forecast objectives.

  • Initiate and lead social responsibility programs within the community and is involved in environmental initiatives.

  • Lead cross-functional teams, which address manufacturing and operations issues and value engineering opportunities.

Provide partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:

  • Challenge and inspire partners to achieve business results.

  • Conduct and ensure the completion of performance reviews.

  • Ensure partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.

  • Oversee training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.

We'd love to hear from people with:

  • Progressive plant management experience (10 years)

  • Senior-level management, leading a team of managers and supervisors to accomplish department objectives while meeting financial commitments (10 years)

  • Establishing systems, processes and tools for business unit/department (5 years)

  • Supply chain operations experience in multiple departments and scaled operations (5 years)

  • Cross-functional experience in three or more of the following areas: procurement, production and materials scheduling, human resources, production, shipping and transportation, inventory control and engineering (3 years)

  • Financial acumen

  • Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to project management and change management processes

As an automation specialist, you will: * Assist Engineering with updates, changes and testing of new modifications. * Assist with new equipment implementations and projects. * Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. * Participate in World Class Manufacturing team sessions. * Perform periodic maintenance of systems. * Perform troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation issues for the packaging equipment and machines, Automated Coffee Roasting System, transfer systems and custom software applications. * Research and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
