Georgia-Pacific LLC is recruiting a Plant Controller to be a key member of the Packaging Segment and is responsible for the financial analysis, accounting and internal controls. This position will be based at Aurora, IL corrugated sheet plant. Aurora is a western suburb of Chicago, approximately 40 miles from the downtown area. There are many local recreational and family-oriented offerings and well as plenty of activities and entertainment for singles and empty-nesters.   • Support the Displays Vice President by promoting an environment of effective partnering with operating and business management

  • Assist the business in maintaining strong Internal Financial Controls

  • Serve as the financial leader on the Lebanon OH plant, and help maximize value creation and enhance decision making

  • Provide leadership and supervision of 2 direct reports

  • Seek out and identify innovation and process improvement opportunities

  • Support the Controllers vision and lead change

What You Will Need:

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of Accounting and/or Financial Analysis experience

  • Solid understanding of GAAP and overall accounting functions (General Ledger, AR, AP, Intercompany Transactions, Reconciliations, Month End Close, Inventory, etc.)

  • Fiduciary experience and oversight/knowledge of internal financial controls

  • Prior Leadership or Direct Supervisory experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel - spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data analysis/manipulation and formula creation, etc., Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint presentation creation/editing)

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Willing to lead change, improve processes, and solve problems

  • Team leadership, talent coaching and development

  • Strong customer focus with analytical, financial, and economic thinking skills

  • Strong presentation skills and ability to interact successfully with various levels of the organization

  • Must be flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

What Will Put You Ahead:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accounting coursework that included Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting

  • Previous Cost Accounting experience

  • Previous Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred

  • Advanced/Expert level MS Excel skills

  • Ability to compile and manipulate large data sets and use BI and data analytics tools (e.g., using ACL, IDEA, Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik sense, etc.)

  • SAP, HRMS, Infor or other large ERP experience preferred

  • Experience with key financial concepts: variance analysis, product costing, inventory and capital investments

The Project Controller will provide regional support to the Directors and Project Teams as needed in the form of project management support functions including, but not limited to: project set-up, budgets, billing, payroll, accounts payable, job maintenance, reporting, and project performance assessment. Qualifications: * Bachelors degree with 5 years of related experience in accounting or project management * Understanding of financial tools and ability to master Henkels & McCoy systems (WOS, PENTA, JDE). * Prefer knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for construction companies. * Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office software.
