Position Summary
The Plant Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our manufacturing plants, ensuring accurate reporting, effective cost control, and financial stability. This role will collaborate closely with plant management and corporate finance teams to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
Oversee plant accounts, ledgers and reporting systems for multiple facilities, ensuring timely and proper financial reporting
Prepare and coordinate monthly and annual close processes
Lead the planning and execution of annual physical counts, assessing their effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement
Analyze monthly operating results to provide variance explanations and research issues
Lead collaborative effort with plant/business unit managers to develop plant budgets and forecasts
Product costing and inventory valuation process
Maintain/oversee the standard cost system in coordination with Engineering, Purchasing and Operations to verify the accuracy and integrity of the bills of materials, manufacturing routings, and purchasing information records
Responsible for calculating labor and overhead rates
Review product costs and gross margins to provide analytical support to operations
Review inventory integrity reports daily and process any required corrective actions
Maintain collaborative relationships across functions and with external parties
Audit and Compliance
Provide strong controls through the development and execution of standard policies and procedures including ERP system processing, workflow steps, etc.
Coordinate with Operations to ensure appropriate rigor in the physical inventory verification process, and the coordination with external auditors regarding the results of the control process
Work with management on all requirements related to external financial audit and other third party compliance requirements
Process Improvement
Identify/lead/assist with process improvements and cost saving opportunities
Validate economic justification of investments and ensure their follow-up
Improve and evolve the weekly / monthly operations reporting to ensure appropriate information is reported on a timely basis
Develop/follow/maintain internal controls to safeguard company's assets and ensure transactions are executed in accordance with company guidelines
