The Role

The Plant Controller provides financial decision support for the assigned manufacturing plants and is a key business partner to Plant Management in the Specialty Chemicals & Engineered Materials (SCEM) Division. The individual's responsibilities are to maintain the Plant cost accounting processes and to provide operational/cost accounting analysis in support of plant operations. This position will provide cost accounting and financial support to SCEM manufacturing in Riegelwood, NC, Chester, PA, Ambler, PA and Scotia, NY. This position reports to the Sr. Finance Manager, SCEM Operations.

In this role you will

  • Provide financial direction to plant;

  • Provide recommendations to improve site performance;

  • Lead Monthly/Annual Forecasting/Budgeting;

  • Ensure the plant financial forecasts and budgets are aligned with Operational, SCEM Division and Corporate goals;

  • Establish standard costing rates and partner with Operations to update material cost, BOM and routings for cost roll;

  • Vet and budget/forecast productivity projects;

  • Review/explain variances;

  • Business/Operations Decision Support;

  • Provide timely plant results and drive accountability.

  • Complete month end close tasks ensuring that financial statements related to the Plant are properly stated and conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including inventory valuations and reserve amounts

  • Provide financial education/training and guidance to non-finance employees

Traits we believe make a strong candidate

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, and 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment/cost function;

  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);

  • Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment knowledge and experience;

  • SAP experience;

  • Microsoft Excel and Power Point;

  • Business Intelligence experience a plus;

  • Financial modeling and analysis experience;

  • Good communication skills; written and verbal

The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for the daily operations of plant and facility management. The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for the Environment of Care management to include Safety, Security, Hazardous Materials and Waste, Emergency Preparedness, Life Safety, Medical Equipment and Utility Systems programs. Experience:Prefer 5 years experience in plant, building, equipment and utility maintenance. Prior supervisory role and health-care experience strongly preferred. Licensure/ Certification:Certification in Plant Engineering preferred. Valid driver's license required.
