Job Description

Summary

The Retail Planogrammer plays an instrumental role in the retail experience by optimizing the selling floor space with Visual Merchandisers, Buyers and Store Operations teams by using a space planning tool. This position will be responsible for implementing planograms to enhance the customers' buying experience and provide feedback, reporting and insights as needed.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $55,696 - $77,974. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop, produce and maintain accurate retail floor planograms with updated product assortment data and floor plans with space planning tool

  • Responsible for merchandise layout and design of all stores to support company growth goals, store brand vision and category strategies while staying within budget

  • Coordinate and participate in category strategies and line review sessions with Buyers and the respective Divisional Merchandise Managers by using analytics to guide the most productive presentation of SKUs, while balancing the need for visually impactful displays and honoring the financial needs of efficient inventory management

  • Work collaboratively with Buyers and Visual Merchandisers to coordinate data flow into and out of the planogram system during merchandise review

  • Apply data analysis to provide recommendations on placement and space allocation of merchandise to ensure that planograms support the goals of the business

  • Maintain archives of category strategies and line reviews, as well as data provided by vendors for category strategies

  • Provide feedback and reports to Buyers, Visual Merchandisers and management as needed

  • Stay up to date on the latest prototype, innovation and merchandising initiatives and ensure all documents and plans comply

  • Build layouts for new/remodeled stores to support company growth initiatives

  • Oversee each project from inception to completion, maintain quality control and communication through all phases of the project, trouble-shoot and respond swiftly to change in products, and manage communication as needed

  • Participate during floor sets as required by the business demands for seasonal campaigns, store openings and experience events

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required

  • Two years prior experience in space planning or floor planning software preferred

  • Retail merchandising work experience required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • Knowledge of store-level merchandising, retail analytical skills, and accurate writing/editing/proofreading abilities are desirable

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received

Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Supervision Received: Works under general supervision of Director of Merchandising, Rental Retail. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor's directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements

  • Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions, however, some exposure to outdoor elements and or walking on slippery/uneven surfaces may be required

  • Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
