This position conducts analyses and performs advanced administrative tasks, both individually and as part of a team, that enable the department to serve citizens effectively and efficiently.
Salary Range: $47,528 - $53,511 (Estimated Annual Salary)
OPEN UNTIL FILLED - APPLICATION REVIEW BEGINS IMMEDIATELY, SUNDAY, 9/01/2024.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Providing administrative support for the Planning Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, and other elected/appointed bodies as assigned, which includes, but is not limited to, drafting meeting minutes, agendas, newspaper advertisements, notification letters and emails, reserving meeting spaces, coordinating with Technology Services to provide audio/visual support for meetings, keeping the County website updated regarding meeting dates/times and department related information, and updating application information, tracking systems, and packets/case histories;
Drafting correspondences and documents/reports;
Providing back up support for the administrative function of the Zoning/Planning Department front desk;
Responding to questions, comments and requests from employees, elected and appointed officials, and citizens in a courteous and timely manner;
Attending meetings, workshops and training sessions and reviews publications and audiovisual materials to become and remain current on the principles, practices and new developments in assigned work areas;
Working in the Emergency Operations Center, when activated;
Attending community and related meetings, which may occur in the evenings and/or on the weekends; and
Performing other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
Minimum Qualification
This position requires an extremely high level of organization. Should be able to accurately type correspondences, reports and memoranda and effectively communicate with others both orally and in writing to respond to inquiries from elected and appointed officials, employees, and the public. Must be proficient with mail merge and have a high level of comfort using software programs such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Energov Permitting, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience using InDesign is highly desired. Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision while performing a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
