The KIOSK Planning Manager will be responsible for leading the manufacturing planning group to effectively create and maintain an efficient master production schedule that meets customer requirements while minimizing cycle times and effectively utilizing inventory. Within this role, the Planning Manager will own capacity planning, production forecast, work order management, supervise 2 or more direct reports. This position reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain.


  • Manage and mentor the planning team to ensure a high level of proficiency.

  • Accountable for production capacity planning: develop the capacity planning tools and monitor plant capacity (ongoing, short-term, mid-term, and long-term) to ensure the optimal level of production capacity is available meet forecasted demand.

  • Accountable for the master production schedule: responsible for the development of the master production schedule for machine, resources, and materials based on available capacity and resources.

  • Ensure a consistent handoff of planning information to Production via the Planner and Production Scheduler.

  • Accountable for work order management, accuracy, updates, and closure.

  • Identify and manage bottlenecks and capacity issues with the Production Management team, co-ordinate internally and externally the resolution of the issues.

  • Establish and monitor ERP system parameters, including safety stock levels for finished goods and raw material inventories.

  • Lead weekly/monthly Master Production Schedule meetings.

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management to achieve on time delivery at optimum cost with optimum inventory levels.

  • Review and action exception messages on a weekly basis.

  • Lead the development of scheduling tools to increase the level of automation and reduce the manual nature of the Scheduling function.

  • Work with Senior Managers and Sales to reserve capacity as necessary for specific jobs.

  • Create weekly/monthly reports and KPIs.

  • Support the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operation, and Planning) activities.

  • Other planning related responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or another related field required.

  • 10+ years of experience in production planning and planning management.

  • Strong understanding of the production planning, production process, and production schedules.

  • Experience managing teams required.

  • Experience working in a high paced manufacturing environment required.

  • Experience with a formal ERP System required.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

  • Strong demonstrated Microsoft Excel skills required.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to organizational priorities and change is required.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required.

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent written communication skills, including grammar and punctuation.

  • Excellent time management skills. Must have the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process.

  • Team Effectiveness: Maximizing the performance of the team by adopting the appropriate behaviors, gaining trust and support in all kinds of circumstances.

  • Ability to work independently, ask questions, exercise good judgement and take initiative.

  • Strong ability to meet or exceed a standard of excellence. Always looking for ways to do things better, set challenging goals and take calculated risks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills. Must be able to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it.

  • Understanding of and experience with Lean manufacturing principles is preferred.

  • Maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, ethics and practices when dealing with customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, supervisors and other key stakeholders of the company.

  • Certifications-ISM or APICS Certifications highly desired (C.P.M., CPSM, CPIM, CSCP)
