The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.
Perform day-to-day management of the division's project planning function. Responsible to articulate project work scopes and detailed schedules supported by appropriate program management contact and functional organization. Will lead a team of planners and coordinators to prepare detailed schedules, enhance the process for established major milestones, target critical path strategy, schedule maintenance, labor and material cost estimates, and reporting to facilitate business objectives.
Coordinates and assists Project Managers, Contract Managers and Project Coordinators in the development of project schedules, resource plans, costing activities and budgets during the bid and proposal phase
Develop, prepare, and analyze integrated program plans, schedules, and budgets; develop business case analyses; and perform financial analyses (e.g., funding profiles, staffing and equipment forecasts, rates of return, estimates at completion, variance analysis, etc.)
Follows receipt of project contract, develops baseline schedules, resource plans and budgets.
Forecasts costs and schedules and ensures they consistent with the contract budget baseline, negotiated parameters and control guide lines
Helps drive performance of projects
Provides project performance information to Department Manager and other functional managers as required
Coordinates and provides weekly, monthly and quarterly project reports to Senior Management
Maintains and statuses project schedules, cost and resource plans
Coordinates project estimate at completion (EAC) efforts
Trains and mentors Project Coordinators as required
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
7 years experience with at least 2 years in government contract scheduling
Bachelor's Degree in business, a technical field or equivalent experience
Solid leadership and management skills, particularly "influence management" and "conflict resolution"
Demonstrated success in managing manpower planning, project reviews, scheduling and budget control
Strong computer skill including significant experience with project scheduling software
Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting; experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity and variance analysis
General understanding of finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and supply chain management
Solid problem solving skills
Extensive organizational and time management skills; must be able to work in a deadline drive environment
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present data to a wide range of audiences
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance, required
