Planning & Innovation Strategist

The Planning & Innovation Strategist contributes to the mission and vision of CHI Health by coordinating the planning, design, implementation and maintenance of Strategy and Innovation projects, programs, services and opportunities. This includes providing direction and support for the development, interpretation and coordination of complex project analysis for the development of the organizations strategic plan, business plans, strategic initiatives, innovations and/or other business development activities; providing assistance and coordination in research, analysis, ideation, design, development, implementation, optimization and look back.

CHI Health is a regional health network with a unified mission: nurturing the healing ministry of the Church while creating healthier communities. Headquartered in Omaha, the combined organization consists of 15 hospitals, two stand-alone behavioral health facilities and more than 150 employed physician practice locations in Nebraska and southwestern Iowa. Nearly 15,900 employees comprise the workforce of this network that includes 2,820 licensed beds and serves as the primary teaching partner of Creighton University's health sciences schools. Essential Functions

  • Gather, analyze, summarize and present internal and external performance, industry, market and other relevant information, trends and ideas.

  • Develop and utilize ideation, forecasting and modeling tools and techniques.

  • Support organizational planning, strategy and innovation initiatives including development and writing of certificate of need applications, environment assessments, white papers, business plans, innovation and growth plans, strategic plans and any other applicable research and planning activities.

  • Proactively work with key business units on their development of plans, strategies, initiatives, innovations and/or other business development activities that are aligned with CHI Health's overall direction.

  • Effectively collaborate with all levels of staff, management and physicians from across the organization and the community at large.

  • Support the Right Track facility and processes to include, but not limited to, participating in session planning, research, knowledge capture and event implementation.

  • Keep clients informed on project progress, status and anticipated completion.

  • Maintain established policies and procedures. Participate on system committees and task forces as requested.

  • Initiate and participate in activities that foster professional and personal growth. As appropriate, maintain professional affiliations and accreditations.

  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Demonstrates work practices consistent with CHI Health and department-specific safety, security and infection control policies.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Must be analytically oriented with experience in processing and analyzing large amounts of data accurately and quickly. Should be able to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications. Superior knowledge and working experience with technical applications in strategy, planning and innovation.

Must be highly organized and have the ability to execute work independently and effectively within deadlines. Must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect. Capability to deliver excellent customer service expected. Requires a high degree of professionalism and an ability to interact with a variety of internal and external entities/stakeholders.

Proven ability to learn and operate computer software programs including word processing, spreadsheet, database, data mining, presentation, graphics and mapping.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years progressive experience in a complex corporate environment required, 5 years preferred. Healthcare experience preferred. Market research, business start-up and/or entrepreneurial and/or innovation experience preferred. Management of complex projects, programs and strategic portfolio's preferred.

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-11T00:00 JOB SUMMARY Under close supervision, responsible for managing small-scale residential Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC) construction projects, including validating current plan design based on company records, and gathering relevant information regarding scope of work and costs related to small line extensions, cable replacements, drop road bores and MDU lockbox replacements. Design line extensions layout by calculating loss and gain characteristics of cable passive and active devices and provide red-line to Design. Coordinate basic construction projects through in-house labor for building, repairing and maintaining HFC. Ensure quality of work performed meets established technical standards and company policies. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Coordinate basic construction projects for building, repairing and maintaining HFC. Coordinate with engineers and developers in designing the plant by performing site surveys of as-built and proposed projects and complete associated red-line documentation. Design line extensions layout by calculating loss and gain characteristics of cable passive and active devices. Draw and sketch installation of HFC and location of equipment such as amplifiers, power supplies and cables; complete material orders needed for planned construction. Complete bill of materials, cost estimates (PO and CPR) and order materials needed for approved planned construction for line extensions, rebuilds, reworks, or other projects. Ensure map databases are updated with any system changes per company design specifications. Prepare system maps and/or print packages for distribution. Perform construction inspections for quality control in accordance with Technical Quality Assurance (TQA) standards. May be required to work an on-call rotation as business needs dictate Occasionally required to work overtime as the business needs dictate Ability to work weekends or a second shift as the business needs dictate Coordinate permitting and make ready process. Respond to customer concerns. Communicate with Project Manager or designated supervisor regarding concerns about construction progress. Perform emergency locates as necessary. Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. Know, understand and follow company policies. Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
