Planning And Zoning Specialist

$30.47 - $33.19 hourly

Job Summary

Implement the City zoning, subdivision, signs and outdoor advertising, and licensed manufactured home park ordinances through the examination of residential and commercial building permit applications, review of site development plans, on-site inspections, and interaction with our customers at the counter and on the phone.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, political science, or geography and one (1) years' experience in the field of planning and zoning desired; or any combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a valid driver's license.

The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6% match. Additionally, employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.

New employees are granted 40 hours of vacation at time of hire and accrue an additional 2 weeks in their first year.
