Merchandise Planning Analyst

Fanatics is 'By Fans, For Fans' and we're looking for sports fans to continue our growth. The Merchandise Planning Analyst (MPA) role is an excellent entry-level position that provides interaction and exposure across many of our internal organizations such as Buying, Marketing, Product Development, Logistics, Customer Service and Finance. Beyond the analytics (determining how well our various products, categories, teams and players are performing), this position will be closely involved with the merchandising team talking sports all day, every day! This position is based in Tampa, FL and is ideal for those looking for a career in Sports, Merchandising and Ecommerce.

More specifically, the MPA works closely with the Merchandise Planning and Merchandising teams to help drive all of the key preseason planning and in-season analysis activities (i.e. how the products, categories, teams and players performed). The Merchandise Planning Analyst (MPA) is responsible for developing and utilizing daily/weekly/monthly exception reports, as well as various ad hoc reports, to help identify top/poor sellers within their areas of responsibility. Working with their respective merchants/planners, the MPA will also help to identify the appropriate action plans to maximize sales, inventory productivity and gross margin.

Assortment Planning / Pre Book Process (Develop the Merchandise Assortment)

  • Assist with key analysis to improve the assortment planning decision-making process

Reporting and Analysis (Identify key trends, hot sellers, poor performers)

  • Analyze key business trends daily / weekly and develop recommendations to drive profitable top line sales

  • Provide timely and accurate reports / summaries to include ad hoc requests

  • Responsible for the analysis, data interpretation and helping to develop solutions / action plans

Annual Planning Process (Build the Financial Plan)

  • Assist Sr. Planner to develop annual sales, receipt, markdown and inventory plans by department and category

  • In concert with Merchandise team, identify uptrend, maintain and downtrend businesses plan accordingly

  • Develop historical analysis (team, classification, vendor, player, etc.) to assist with planning

Inventory Management

  • Assist with end to end inventory management - understand sales trends, inventory levels and on order

  • Identify potential sales opportunities (macro and item level)

  • Identify and react to fast / slow sellers with special emphasis on MVP items (key items)

  • Monitors daily/weekly/monthly in-bound receipts to ensure alignment with financial targets

Hot Market Pre and Post Event Analysis (Championship Games, Key Events, etc.)

  • Provide pre and post event analysis (buy quantities, sales, sell thru, etc.)

Systems Development and Support

  • Intense focus on data integrity

  • Helps identify system and reporting enhancements

  • Participate in new system solution integrations

Internal / External Collaboration

  • Merchandise collaboration to include reporting and analysis, monthly forecast process to identify key business opportunities sales first focus

  • Attend and actively participate in weekly team meetings and monthly training / development sessions

Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Expert level sports knowledge desired

  • Bachelor's degree required (GPA 3.0 or greater)

SOF Operations &amp; Planning Analyst/Trainer (SME IV) personnel plan, direct, and coordinate the activities required to execute the various portions of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC). The Joint Exercise Life Cycle includes all the events and actions required to plan, execute, and evaluate major training events that prepare SOF for operations in support of the nation’s strategic initiatives. SOF Operations &amp; Planning Analyst/Trainer (SME IV) are the senior operational experts who provide leadership to contract Special Operations and Exercise personnel as they work to plan, execute and evaluate portions of the JELC. Supported entities include, but are not limited to: USSOCOM Battle staff, Geographical Combatant Commands, Exercises, Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC) and Partner Nations.</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities: </p><ul> <li>Serve as Analyst/Trainer (A/T) for operational level planning and Command and Control (C2). </li> <li>Train and mentor joint and multinational battle staffs in operational level planning and Command and Control (C2), to include translation of national and theater strategic objectives into unified action and understanding the roles, relationships, interests, and equities of Geographic Combatant Commanders (GCCs), participating interagency partners and relevant stakeholders. </li> <li>Assist in planning, designing, executing, controlling &amp; analyzing joint SOF training &amp; exercises. </li> <li>Provide subject matter expertise on deliberate planning, crisis action planning, and C2 in the special operations arena, in support of named operations, and Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). </li> <li>Lead the development and presentation of SOF related senior leader and battle staff training presentations for operational level planning and C2. </li> <li>Develop observation and training plans. </li> <li>Provide analysis and preparation of after action reviews and reports, to include collecting, analyzing and reporting lessons learned. </li> <li>Mentor and train commanders and staffs of Geographic Combatant Commanders (GCCs), Joint Task Forces (JTFs), Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), Special Operations Joint Task Forces (SOJTFs), Joint Special Operations Task Forces (JSOTFs), and Special Operations Commands-Forward(SOC-FWD). </li> <li>Mentor and train assigned personnel on operational level planning and C2. </li> <li>Lead review and recommend changes to Joint Special Operations and Interagency Coordination related doctrine. </li> <li>Assist in developing scenarios, injects, and master scenario events lists (MSELs) for practical, table top, and vignette type training events and venues. </li> <li>Must also support contingency operations as required. </li> </ul><p><em>Multiple positions may be hired from this announcement. </em></p><p><br></p><p>Wittenberg Weiner Consulting, LLC (WWC) is a small, woman-owned business providing management consulting services to U.S. government agencies.</p> <p>At WWC, our employees are the embodiment of our success as a firm.
