The Planner is responsible for focusing on establishing and maintaining inventory targets for a specific area and/or product grouping, utilizing a planning based methodology to develop a superior Supply Chain.
Coordinate and implement inventory planning initiatives aligned with global inventory policies as required
Monitor inventory metric trends, sales history, and field inputs to determine stocking levels
Assign and maintain material replenishment planning settings within SAP, ensuring appropriate stock is available to support operations while achieving inventory turn and fill rate targets
Facilitate the movement of aging or excess inventory to other areas, as required, to improve stock turns
Automate metrics, reports and database tools using Business Intelligence (BI), Business Warehouse (BW) and Microsoft Access to improve accuracy and speed up information gathering for corporate and field management
Educate field operations on DNOW inventory planning policies
Coordinate and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Logistics, and Operations to ensure strategic goals are met
The role is somewhat technical and requires:
Experience in inventory management or replenishment planning within SAP preferred
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, or Industrial Distribution preferred
Detailed understanding of Supply Chain Integration processes (Forecasting, Demand Management, Procurement, Production, Inventory Management, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel, Access and Outlook
Well organized, analytical, results-oriented, and productive in a flexible environment as this person will be responsible for making tactical and strategic decisions to better our inventory performance
Analytical and creative in the use of database tools for continuous improvement initiatives
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Certification in Production and Inventory Management preferred
Knowledge of oilfield related materials preferred
