Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Planner, Supply Chain will manage finished goods order placement and production for assigned suppliers and be accountable for maintaining established safety stock levels. This position will work with and coordinate with all the Global Operations groups (Sourcing, Demand Management, Regional teams, Global Licensing, Quality, Marketing, Transportation and Distribution Centers) to ensure appropriate flow of inventory to minimize risk to the company's supply chain. In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining planning parameters, communicating potential supply gaps, providing status updates and helping resolve roadblocks impacting timely production or shipment of skus.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Manage the entire flow of product (financial & physical) from suppliers to receiving locations.

  • Review Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) exception messages, other reports, and react appropriately to planned order releases, re-schedule in, re-schedule out and cancel messages.

  • Conduct supplier calls to secure production updates, review availability of raw materials and components, provide direction when resources are constrained. Ensure supplier is proactively communicating and maintaining PO promise dates when productions are delayed.

  • Participate in weekly raw material calls with suppliers and Sourcing; follow up with Sourcing on pending deviations as needed.

  • Review and update Back Order and Critical Items reports. Provide Regional Planners with updated product availability data, potential future supply gaps.

  • Identify and review with Demand Management variances between forecast and sales.

  • Monitor inventory available at supplier and ensure timely deployment by Transportation team.

  • Participate in new launch, transitions and maintenance Projects calls, as appropriate, and provide updates to PMs as requested.

  • Coordinate required inventory builds with SCP Project Mgr and regional team.

  • Review and analyze monthly Supplier Scorecard reports. Participate with suppliers on monthly calls to review performance data and collaborate on improvement opportunities.

  • Provide suppliers with monthly production forecast data. Notify suppliers of significant demand changes.

  • Review Agile notifications for new SKU (Rev) releases, Stop Ship notifications, NCRs, and plan inventory accordingly based on these notifications.

  • Identify inventory transfers needed to keep US DCs balanced based on future supply timing.

  • Follow up on pending NCRs submitted by Quality and assist is resolution, as needed.

  • Process finished goods deviations in Agile and ensure they are approved in a timely manner.

  • Periodically evaluate and update planning parameters to ensure optimal ordering patterns.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvements, problem resolution, reporting requirements, etc.

  • Participate in testing of new systems which impact planning.

  • Help train new suppliers on TAKE system.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain planning in a manufacturing-based environment and understanding of Purchasing and Transportation.

  • Must possess good mathematical skills and meticulous with details

  • Possess highly analytical and effective problem solving skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment and lead various high-level projects

  • Strong computer and database query skills, specifically Excel skills

Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing-based environment in Planning, Purchasing, Customer Service, Logistics, Transportation

  • Experience working with suppliers and coordinating production

  • MRP/ERP experience

Education:

  • Minimum of High School diploma or GED equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience utilizing Oracle ERP/ASCP or similar ERP system

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree, or comparable experience, in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or Economics

  • Inventory Control experience

  • Familiarity with international shipments

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification or classes
