Job Title: Senior Planner

Department: Pre-Production Engineering

Reports To: Planning Supervisor

SUMMARY

A Senior Planner must be capable of converting information from customer data files, fabrication drawings, customer and industry specifications, purchase orders and other sources into instructions to manufacture printed circuit boards.

A consistently high level of technical knowledge of manufacturing process steps and current capabilities, traveler generation, CAM tooling process, lamination stack-ups, impedance modeling, tooling methodologies for blind, buried and micro-vias, advanced technology methods, industry standards and customer specifications is required for the job. A high degree of attention to detail and a superior quality ethic are essential.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for timely and error free work on a daily basis as assigned by supervision and management.
2.Read, understand, and interpret purchase orders, drawings, specifications and other documentation provided to assess requirements for each individual job.
3.Review and analyze electronic data and provide processing steps to manufacture the PCB on shop floor traveler.
4.Generate shop floor traveler using ProMS software and utilize other software tools in MS Office for materials analysis, overage requirements, and bill of materials issue etc.
5.Generate CAM tooling instructions, scale factor tables, artwork instructions and other paperwork as required.
6.Calculate lamination constructions, drill bit sizes and panelization requirements; produce complete drawings when needed for use on the manufacturing floor.
7.Model and calculate impedance requirements for the PCB including stripline, differential, and broadside using specified software.
8.Plan complex work including: micro via, blind/buried via, sequential laminations, multiple plating finishes and other special jobs as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May be required to supervise and assist Junior Planners, Planners, and other Senior Planners or other engineering area employees as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified applicants must hold U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED desired; college credits or degree preferred, but not required. Six years or more of experience in the PCB industry in engineering/planning is preferred.

Demonstrated degree of proficiency with mathematics, computers, ability to interpret and understand fabrication drawings, specifications and other written technical instructions is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong oral and written communication skills, must speak, read, and write English fluently. Ability to interpret complex technical statements on drawings and in other written instructions and convey clear statements of instructions to create tooling and to manufacture printed circuit boards.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic understanding of a Windows operating system and some knowledge or background with MS Office and ProMS software is required. Proficiency with Valor Genesis and/or software is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires the individual to perform the majority of the shift at a desktop environment. Some walking of short distances will be required.

Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Must have excellent concentration; must be able to multi-task and to remain focused with frequent interruptions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is typical of manufacturing operations. This facility contains chemicals that are known by the State of California to contain harmful or cancer causing agents. This facility contains high voltage equipment.

EXPORT AND ITAR REQUIREMENTS

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
