Job Description: Arconic is currently in search of a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) Operations business unit in Lancaster, PA.

The Mechanical Maintenance Planner is responsible to plan, organize, coordinate and schedule maintenance tasks, plant projects or project assignments utilizing in-house maintenance personnel, outside contractors or venders, and to ensure the tasks are performed to high quality standards and in an efficient and timely manner.


  • Estimate, plan, and kit all work performed by craft personnel and contractors in a cost-effective manner.

  • Serve as liaison, coordinator and project leader between maintenance (mechanical and electrical), production, supply chain, support services, contractors and engineering personnel.

  • Serve as a technical resource and backfill for other maintenance planners or schedulers

  • Provide detailed, step-by-step plans, parts, and materials to the Crafts, schedulers, kitters, Shift Coordinators and contractors which will allow them to efficiently complete their work.

  • Schedule all work performed in a cost-effective manner.

  • Provide detailed, daily scheduled, step-by-step plans and equipment outage schedules Gantt charts which will allow efficient completion of work.

  • Assist in determining work priorities through discussions with maintenance, engineering, production leadership and contractors.

  • Own, manage, and monitor department maintenance work orders, project assignments, Bill of Materials, and other metrics to allow prompt scheduling and completion of work.

  • Plan and prepare for equipment shutdowns. During shutdowns, assist Outage Coordinator and contractors in making revisions/adjustments as necessary to return equipment back to production on time. Following shutdowns, make corrections through the post outage review process for future enhancements.

  • Responsible for maintaining equipment maintenance plans and Preventative Maintenance work orders.

  • Responsible for asset management Bill of Materials and storeroom parts criticality.

  • Responsible for procuring and ordering parts.

  • Establish job scopes and time frames for all work requests and projects. Tasks may require: generating PESHR's, RFA's, GANTT Charts; developing or obtaining drawings/prints from multiple resources; ordering parts and/or materials required; specifying part information and verifying equipment availability through production center.

  • Maintain necessary records as required by OSHA or other governing bodies



  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in with maintenance planning in a manufacturing environment

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


  • Minimum 1-year Project Leader experience

  • Working knowledge of ADEPT

  • Working knowledge of AutoCad

  • Experience with Oracle eAM

  • Working knowledge of OSHA, Arconic standards, and ISO9000 requirements.

  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline: Welding, Metal Fabrication, Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, Sheet Metal, Machine Shop, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Heating-Ventilation-Air-Conditioning (HVAC) from an accredited institution


  • Ability to meet physical requirements and withstand working conditions described by the Department

VIEW JOBS 12/5/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-05T00:00 Job Description Position provides both electrical and mechanical maintenance, corrective maintenance, fabrication, assembly and installation activities for the Plate Mill Maintenance Department. The primary focus for this position maintains all Plate Mill manufacturing and support systems in an operational and safe condition. Tasks include both electrical and mechanical preventative and predictive skills to perform safety inspections, prevent and minimize equipment downtime and problem solving mechanical systems. * Read, understand and follow all standard operating procedures, safety rules and regulations. * Diagnose basic AC motor problems, either replace motor or replace bearings. * Diagnose basic DC motor problems, replace brushes, clean commutators, and fields. * Clean, lube and perform preventive maintenance on motors, fans and machinery/equipment. * Fabricate parts, tools, and project assignment. * Cutting, welding, and grinding. Flat vertical welding of mild steel. * Learn basic hydraulic and pneumatics. * Assist in repairs to machinery/equipment, buildings and utilities. * Diagnose basic problems on power distribution systems under 750 volts. * While performing daily rounds detect faulty operations and defective equipment. * Diagnose, record and remedy trouble as necessary. * Learn basic milling operation and process needed to keep plate on gauge and finish within specification. * Learn basic casting operation and how to change platens on box sets, mechanically change casters and set them up. Qualifications Basic Qualifications * Ability to successfully pass the Electrical/Mechanical Repairperson Accelerated Assessment Test at Electro-Mechanical Apprentice B or A cut score. * 2 years heavy industrial maintenance experience performing both electrical and mechanical repairs/troubleshooting, which includes working with and troubleshooting PLC's, AC motors and frequency drives, DC motors and drives, 480 volt three-phase equipment, hydraulics, molten metal furnaces, mechanical drives, bearings, piping and tubing, welding and fabrication. (Provide detailed resume outline experience in both trades). OR * Advanced Technical Degree (Associate in Specialized Trade in Electrical/Mechanical field); (Provide copy of Diploma with resume) OR * 2 years Military experience in a mechanical/electrical field (Provide copy of official MOS with resume) * Must be able to lift and carry heavy weights up to 50 pounds. * Must own personal tools Preferred Qualifications: * 3+ years heavy industrial Electro-Mechanical maintenance experience Minimum Education Required High School or GED Arconic Lancaster MN
