This position is for a fully-dedicated Planner at our Oakland manufacturing plant, responsible for developing a day to day production schedule and accurate documentation to support the process.

You Will

  • Schedule day to day production batches based off of the Plan of Record supplied by our Supply Chain team.

  • Create Work Orders per the production schedule and provide to Operators.

  • Coordinate and track daily production attainments and adjust plans to mitigate shortages and scrap.

  • Reconcile and close work orders on a daily basis with Production Supervisors and leads.

  • Work with Buyer Planner to resolve and/or explain work order variances.

  • Work with business stakeholders to schedule plant trials.

  • Manage intermediate inventory/safety stock levels and external requests for intermediate samples.

  • Assist in weekly and month-end closing process.

  • Run reports as needed.

  • Assist with other projects as needed.

  • Write and update SOPs.

  • Train all new operators on production tracking and scheduling software SOP.

  • Represent the production Team in cross functional work groups as the SME for production tracking and scheduling software

You Have

  • Strong problem-solving skills and basic planning principle knowledge.

  • A professional attitude and attention to detail.

  • 2+ years in planning experience.

  • Customer and client focus.

  • Working experience with MRP/ERP Systems (Sage preferred).

Opportunity: * In this role you will develop and manage environmental documents for transportation projects throughout California in accordance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). * The candidate must be familiar with state and federal environmental laws, policies, practices, and procedures related to environmental analysis of transportation projects. Must have previous experience conducting environmental evaluations and planning analyses for all phases of transportation and transit projects. * The candidate may be required to travel to other Parsons offices and other project locations for short-term job assignments. * Candidate will be expected to work on multiple projects at the same time under tight deadlines. * The most qualified individual will have strong analytical, verbal, organization, and written skills. The individual must have at least 10 years of related environmental planning experience and must be able to work with minimal supervision. * The individual must be able to work in a team or individual setting, have a solid background in technical writing, be able to take initiative, and use problem solving skills when provided a challenge. * In addition, experience in transportation and transit planning, community impacts, environmental justice, air quality, hazardous waste or, other related technical expertise is highly valued. * The candidate, with minimal supervision, will apply environmental planning principles and fundamental theories as it relates to transportation and transit projects. * You will research, compile, analyze, and synthesize data on economic, social, and physical factors associated with implementation of complex or controversial transportation improvements on regional highways, interchanges, and local streets. * The position will require a significant amount of analyzing and writing environmental technical studies, correspondences, and reports regarding transportation planning and environmental analyses * This position requires strong document management skills and the ability to prepare presentations, ad-hoc reports, scopes, and proposals, as necessary. You will balance your time working and reviewing on specific technical documents (i.e. Community Impacts, Noise, Air Quality, Hazards), as well as generalist activities. * Keys to your success will be your experience in preparing environmental documentation, ability to develop innovative solutions, and your skills communicating complex environmental analytical concepts to a non-technical audience. Responsibilities: May perform any or all of the following types of assignments in the office or at a field site: * Prepares, manages, and coordinates complex CEQA and NEPA environmental documents for transportation and transit projects: IS, IS- MND, EIR, CE/CE, EA and EIS. * Conduct field work activities and studies as it relates to transportation projects and state and federal environmental requirements * Manages small teams of multidisciplinary consultants and technical expert * Prepares supporting environmental technical studies for various environmental resources (i.e. Air Quality, Community Impacts, Growth Studies, Water Quality, and Cumulative Impact Analysis). * Review and edits sections prepared by sub-consultants. * Provide clients and in-house staff with guidance on complex state and federal regulatory topics. * Prepares mapping and exhibits, preferably through ArcGIS or Adobe Illustrator for reports and presentations. * Organizes data and prepares detailed spreadsheets for incorporation into the environmental document. * Prepares and produces reports in accordance with Caltrans Standard Environmental Reference guidelines or through approved agency templates. Prepares environmental analysis sections in accordance with appropriate technical report writing guidelines. * Develops procedures to efficiently meet client and regulatory expectations, and maintains a well-organized environmental record. * Attend and prepares content for client, agency, and public meetings. * Participates in business development activities including proposal development, and preparation for client presentations and interviews. Requirements: * A 4-year degree in Urban/Environmental Planning, Environmental Sciences or related field * 12+ years of related experience in planning or environmental studies, with increasingly progressive responsibilities. * Candidate should have prior experience with Caltrans, BART, FTA, or other transportation and transit agencies. Consulting firm experience is required. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) required. Experience working on proposal development a plus. * Candidates should indicate if they have experience in a specific human and natural environmental discipline, such as land use planning, environmental justice, water studies, air quality, hazards, etc. Experience with permitting and construction management phases a plus.
