A Planner must be capable of converting information from customer data files, fabrication drawings, customer and industry specifications, purchase orders and other sources into instructions to manufacture printed circuit boards.
An intermediate level of technical knowledge of manufacturing process steps and current capabilities, traveler generation, CAM tooling process, lamination stack-ups, impedance modeling, tooling methodologies for blind, buried and micro-vias, advanced technology methods, industry standards and customer specifications is required for the job. Attention to detail and a superior quality ethic are essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for timely and error free work on a daily basis as assigned by supervision and management.
Read, understand, and interpret purchase orders, drawings, specifications and other documentation provided to assess requirements for each individual job.
Review and analyze electronic data and provide processing steps to manufacture the PCB on shop floor traveler.
Generate shop floor traveler using TTM software and utilize other software tools in MS Office for materials analysis, overage requirements, and bill of materials issue etc.
Generate CAM tooling instructions, scale factor tables, artwork instructions and other paperwork as required.
Calculate lamination constructions, drill bit sizes and panelization requirements; produce complete drawings when needed for use on the manufacturing floor.
Model and calculate impedance requirements for the PCB including stripline, differential, and broadside using specified software.
Good oral and written communication skills, must speak, read, and write English fluently.
Ability to interpret technical statements on drawings and in other written instructions and convey clear statements of instructions to create tooling and to manufacture printed circuit boards.
Basic understanding of a Windows operating system and some knowledge or background with MS Office software is required.
Proficiency with Valor Genesis software is desired but not required.
Fundamental mathematical skills and reasoning ability required.
Demonstrated skills at conversion of Metric and English measurements and interpretation of drawing dimensions are required.
This position requires the individual to perform for the majority of the shift at a desktop environment. Some walking of short distances will be required. Must be able to lift 30lbs. Must have good concentration; must be able to remain focused with minor interruptions.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED desired.
Three years or more of experience in the PCB industry in engineering/planning is preferred.
Demonstrated degree of proficiency with mathematics, computers, ability to interpret and understand fabrication drawings, specifications and other written technical instructions is required.
Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation.
