Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Planner I will be preparing, administering and monitoring production planning and scheduling data to support company, and/or customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Make/buy planning and scheduling functions.

  • Preparation of production planning data based on conceptual engineering data.

  • Establishment and maintenance of planning parameters for all material.

  • Identification and execution of alternative production and material options when confronted with manufacturing restraints.

  • Schedule and material analysis for all schedule changes and engineering changes.

  • Monitoring of costs associated with material and production efforts.

  • Interfacing with Program Management and other functional areas to ensure contract schedule and program success.

Qualifications

Education:

Twelve years of professional experience in a Manufacturing/MRP environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A BS in Business Administration or related field is highly desirable, but not mandatory. APICS certification is desired, but not mandatory.

Perform detailed Project planning and scheduling of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning activities to support Project activities in a PSM governed plant. Work to ensure manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety. Essential Responsibilities: Provide planning support for work which is less defined in scope by utilizing understanding and experience of planning techniques. In addition, as the Construction / Project Planner and Scheduler, you will: Lead by example in all GE initiatives including EHS, HR, Six Sigma, Quality, and computerized maintenance management Responsible for the Planning / Scheduling of Project work orders for a 24 hour PSM facility utilizing Microsoft Project Responsible for developing and implementing Project plans to establish proper task sequence, duration, craft, tools, and equipment to properly execute the project in a safe, timely, efficient and cost effective manner Create weekly narrative of Project Schedule performance identifying options to maintain progress, or improve performance through creative means and methods Conduct weekly meetings with Contractors, Production and Manufacturing Engineers to plan, coordinate and schedule asset availability for upcoming activities Track Project to completion and use feedback to improve schedule quality Collect and analyze data against Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) Make recommendations for improving plants operations and solving Project related and production related problems Responsible for organizing Equipment Storage in staging areas and warehouse Responsible for scheduling onsite services and sending equipment offsite for repair Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management or related field) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S): Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
