Position Summary:

Michael Kors is looking for a Planner who will initiate analysis and develop financial strategy for a rapidly growing retail business. The Planner will play a key role in creating reports/recaps of the business, developing financial plans and monitoring the performance of sales, inventory, markdowns and profit by classification from a top-line to store level. Our Planner will work closely with the buying team to manage the open-to-buy, analyze seasonal merchandise assortments and develop merchandising strategies. Strong analytical skills, creative problem solving skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment are a must. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Merchandise Planning, Store Planning and/or Allocation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create seasonal, monthly and weekly plans and forecasts for sales, inventory, markdowns and gross margin. Monitor performance and partner with buying team to develop financial strategies to achieve plans.

  • Initiate and develop actionable analysis to recap business by classification and subclass at a top-line as well as store level in order to partner with buying team to create strategies to drive sales and achieve gross margin profitability.

  • Manage and update monthly open-to-buy.

  • Recommend buys based on thorough analysis of retail business prior to each market to achieve increased sales, profitability and sell-thru % by class and department.

  • Work with buying team and stores to analyze business by door to maximize sales and stock opportunities. Monitor flow of initial assortments as well as reorders to stores by classification and by style.

  • Recap business by classification, style, color and size and create best seller/hindsight reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to allow for thorough analysis of the business.

  • Produce weekly reports recapping sales, inventory and gross margin vs. plan and projection by department, classification and by door.

Requirements:

  • Must have 5+ yrs. Experience in Retail Planning, Store Planning and/or allocation

  • Previous allocation exposure is a must

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree

  • Computer Literate Advanced Excel Skills

  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills

  • Ability to thrive in entrepreneurial environment

We are seeking a Senior Occupancy Planner to successfully manage the supply, capacity, and demand of a building, campus, or regional space portfolio for a specific client at the business unit level. Role Purpose As a Senior Occupancy Planner, you'll be driving the development of occupancy plans and sequencing of group-level and individual moves as well as facilitate and/or resolve planning issues identified in customer planning meetings. You will ensure that planning is aligned with corporate guidelines and that all scenarios maximize the use of space. You will recommend, educate, and enforce space policies/standards, procedures, and protocols and notify the client of customer requested exceptions; and, as necessary, assist in developing site-specific Planning Strategies with Senior Leadership. You will be a Subject Matter Expert in the client's workplace program and the use of utilization data to drive solutions that increase productivity. You will be a leader in the Occupancy Planning and account team, modeling superior client relationship management and strategic thinking. You'll need to have great knowledge in Corporate Real Estate. In this role, you will interact with organizational leadership, identifying requirements, preparing and updating project status reports on actual seat demand versus projected seat demand at the building level reporting out on the current supply and capacity, and forecast inventory changes as required. You'll be charged with assembling, updating, and reporting the top-down and bottoms-up seat count projections collected at the group-level for an annual planning horizon and work with the client to reconcile discrepancies from top-down projections, as well as track and report actual seat demand at the group level. You must be familiar with typical occupancy metrics, sharing ratios, and industry occupancy trends. What this job involves Key responsibilities include: To be successful in this role, you should be able to ensure accurate reporting of information, and foster critical relationships between various individuals and organizations communication channels will exist with: * Corporate Real Estate to review and resolve planning forecast requirements, concerns and issues; * Business Unit leadership in collecting headcount forecasts and resolve headcount forecast discrepancies between leadership's numbers and those collected at the group level; * Corporate Finance group to gather top-down headcount and growth projections; * Project management to review planning strategies that drive construction projects and support implementation of these projects; * Move coordination and facility management teams to review and approve moves, develop migration plans and conduct facility audits; * Other members of the occupancy planning team to ensure cross campus/portfolio strategy plans are developed Every day is different, and in all these activities, we'd encourage you to show your ingenuity. Previous experience in space/occupancy planning at a strategic level, plus experience with interior office renovations, is highly desirable. CAFM system experience also highly desirable. You'll need to be dynamic and technologically savvy and utilize software to support planning solutions and communicate ideas clearly with the planning team and lines of businesses. You will be successful if you have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot table, vlook-up, cell calculations), and AutoCAD (basic test-fits and square foot calculations).
