Job Title: Planner Estimator
Job Description
We are seeking four Planner Estimators, specializing in structural and electrical fields, to join our team. This role requires writing Work Specifications, conducting ship checks, and estimating labor, material, and subcontractor work at the paragraph and line-item level for U.S. Navy Ship repair, alterations, and modifications. The Planner Estimator will assess the ship's material condition through ship checks, research ship drawings, and technical manuals, analyze ship condition assessments and tests, and determine the scope of work required by reviewing and validating Work Notifications (2-Kilos). The successful candidates will interpret and use all technical and material information available in Navy, Shipbuilder, Manufacturer drawings, and technical manuals to identify repair and modification requirements. Additionally, candidates will develop work items/specifications in accordance with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) 4-E requirements, utilizing NAVSEA instructions and pertinent NAVSEA Standard Items, as well as Class and Local Standard Work Templates.
Hard Skills
Knowledge of U.S. Navy ship construction
Experience with shipboard systems and equipment
Familiarity with Navy Maintenance Database (NMD)
Ability to develop Work Items/Specifications and labor, material, and cost estimates

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Work Environment
This full-time position is based in our office with a workday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM or from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Candidates will be fully onsite.
