Responsibilities

  • Accountable for preparing the most complex compliance testing across all segments including managing the largest Institutional client tests.

  • Meet or exceed required production and quality standards defined for this role.

  • Analyze & interpret unique plan designs to effectively translate the impact those provisions have on complex testing to ensure accurate results.

  • Consult and negotiate with internal partners on timing and/or solutions for individual client tests.

  • Analyze conditions thoroughly to reach wise independent decisions.

  • Lead discussions with clients, Sales reps, Advisors, CPA's, and or attorneys as you find the need to learn more to ensure the tests you are preparing areaccurate.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of plan design and IRS requirements as they relate to compliance testing related issues.

  • Responsible for advancing team strategies with confidence while developing team momentum, enthusiasm and pride.

  • Represent the team on projects with potential to become the project lead as needed.

  • Innovate using creative thinking to aggressively identify ways to move the team forward to ensure long term success forthe team, , our clients, and for RIS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required

  • 4+ years of relevant financial services experience preferred with strong preference for retirement plan operations or client facing interaction experience.

  • Proven excellence with written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem solving, decision making, organizational and time management skills.

  • Must be able to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment

  • Demonstrates a strong power of analytical reasoning.

  • Proven track record of innovating for future success and is committed to continuous innovation.

  • Advanced PC skills including using WORD, EXCEL, and RIS Systems.

  • Ability to comprehend and apply plan and contract document provisions..

Compliance with non-payroll related federal, state and local tax laws through participation in tax preparation and filing processes, including 990s. Coordination and completion of monthly and yearly data submissions to various internal and external reporting agencies. Essential Accountabilities: * Participate in preparation of consolidated financial statement preparation process in accordance with established reporting deadlines * Assist in proper elimination of all intercompany activity at various company levels amongst MLH members * Assist in preparation of monthly financial packages for distribution to MLH Senior Management * Maintain a system of internal control as established by Administrative and Financial policies and procedures * Maintain various monthly reporting files for shared purposes * Participate in the IRS Form 990 and 990-T preparation and filing process for all MLH members, ensuring compliance with federal reporting laws * Assist in coordination and compilation of data from various departments throughout MLH to ensure consistent reporting * Completion of IRS Form 990 & IRS Form 990-T for several MLH entities * Work with outside tax advisors, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, on IRS Form 990 & Form 990-T review, approval and completion process * Participate in preparation of final 990s for board level review and signature by Chief Financial Officer * Assist in coordination of all other non-payroll related tax filings at the federal local and state levels * Contribute to local business tax filings for applicable MLH entities * Maintain annual local business license filings for various operational locations * Assist in the completion of the annual financial statement audit * Participate in assembly of audit evidential matter and variance explanations at a system-wide level to comply with external audit documentation requirements * Participation in MLH annual budget process. * Assist in consolidation and presentation of system-wide budget, including coordination of activity between system members for identification of elimination activity at various levels within MLH. * Complete system surveys and periodic data submissions as required * Complete system-wide surveys on both an individual entity and/or consolidated level for timely submissions as required * Completion of annual PHC4 data submission for hospital entities * Compile data for monthly data submissions to reporting agencies (Census Bureau, DVHC, HAP, SIMS, etc.) for individual system members QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required Experience: Zero to three years experience, preferably in a healthcare setting with a concentration in financial reporting and tax preparation preferred Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software necessary We offer competitive compensation and outstanding comprehensive benefits including tuition reimbursement, 403B matching savings plan, a pension plan, and a generous paid time off program.
