  • Accountable for preparing the most complex compliance testing across all segments including managing the largest Institutional client tests.

  • Meet or exceed required production and quality standards defined for this role.

  • Analyze & interpret unique plan designs to effectively translate the impact those provisions have on complex testing to ensure accurate results.

  • Consult and negotiate with internal partners on timing and/or solutions for individual client tests.

  • Analyze conditions thoroughly to reach wise independent decisions.

  • Lead discussions with clients, Sales reps, Advisors, CPA's, and or attorneys as you find the need to learn more to ensure the tests you are preparing areaccurate.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of plan design and IRS requirements as they relate to compliance testing related issues.

  • Responsible for advancing team strategies with confidence while developing team momentum, enthusiasm and pride.

  • Represent the team on projects with potential to become the project lead as needed.

  • Innovate using creative thinking to aggressively identify ways to move the team forward to ensure long term success forthe team, , our clients, and for RIS.


  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required

  • 4+ years of relevant financial services experience preferred with strong preference for retirement plan operations or client facing interaction experience.

  • Proven excellence with written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem solving, decision making, organizational and time management skills.

  • Must be able to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment

  • Demonstrates a strong power of analytical reasoning.

  • Proven track record of innovating for future success and is committed to continuous innovation.

  • Advanced PC skills including using WORD, EXCEL, and RIS Systems.

  • Ability to comprehend and apply plan and contract document provisions..


This position may be located in Des Moines, IA, Cedar Falls, IA, Mason City, IA, Spokane, WA or virtually.

VIEW JOBS 11/17/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-15T00:00 Job Details: Summary: The Enterprise Risk Management ("ERM") department identifies, measures, monitors and reports risks and exposures across the organization through the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, and specifically through several risk programs, including but not limited to: Risk Management Framework, Risk Reporting and Data Analytics, and Training and Communication. The ERM Analyst position encompasses responsibilities for assisting with these programs as well as other tasks and initiatives including: Dynamic Risk Assessments, Scenario Analysis Program, Operational Loss Program, Risk Treatment, Departmental Policies and Procedures; Issue Tracking; and other activities as they arise. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist the ERM Governance, Reporting and Training Team with implementing, monitoring, assessing and reporting on the adequacy and effectiveness of OCC's Risk Management Framework (RMF) across business areas; * Develop a solid understanding of OCC's RMF and assist business units with governance issues and concerns; * Verify, analyze, create and monitor key performance, key risk, and key control indicators to support management and board-level reporting across business units; * Draft ERM risk reports including, determine trending and assess against risk tolerance and appetites; * Assist in identifying, developing and implementing tools or methods to track and monitor risk; * Maintain, and help draft ERM's policies and procedures in line with the process and control universe; * Track and communicate identified audit and exam issues as well as business area self-identified issues and findings to the ERM Management Team; * Create trainings across the department including but not limited to RMF, Risk Assessment, Risk Treatment, and User Defined Applications; * Support management with special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Understanding of securities/derivatives markets and risk management preferred * Comprehensive analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to think creatively and present ideas clearly * Strong attention to detail and analytical skills including data analytics and reporting. * Experience in designing and producing quality reports and presentations * Ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of the organization and across a multitude of departments is essential. * Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously, as well as shifting priorities. * Ability to build broad-based business relationships across the organization. * Willingness to seek certifications. Technical Skills: * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience using lookups, pivot tables and macros * Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Access a plus * Proficient in Tableau a plus Education and/or Experience: * 0 to 2 years of financial risk experience, preferably in an audit, compliance or risk or related consulting function * Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, engineering, quantitative finance, or political science preferred or equivalent in industry experience.
