Jacobs Nuclear Projects and Consulting is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction. We are currently executing many contracts, performing work that is essential to our clients' missions across a broad range of functional areas. We are looking for a Piping Engineer for our Oak Ridge, TN location, you will have the chance to focus on projects. The necessary Job skills necessary will include but are not limited to:
Perform the following calculations: Pipe flow, Tank sizing, Pressure Relief, Pump sizing, Pipe Deflection.
Generate piping specifications in accordance with ANSI B31.3
Work with multidiscipline team to plan work and provide pressure piping system designs and associated equipment.
Assist in the development of both Engineering and Construction Schedules.
Perform Constructability reviews on drawings packages and at site locations.
Select pipe supports for metal and plastic piping from catalog supports and designed engineered supports when required.
Generate Piping Insulation and Painting Specifications.
Perform piping safety reviews.
Assist in the development of General Arrangement Drawings.
Bachelor's of Science or Master's of Science in an Engineering Discipline
15 years' of engineering experience
USA citizenship (no dual-citizenship)
Computer skills: Excel, WORD, Microsoft Outlook email, Microstation and/or AutoCAD
In addition to the requirements above the ideal candidate may have these preferred skills:
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carry of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
