Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve them.
Uses computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools
Responsible for assisting with the drafting/design effort on projects under supervision of more senior designers or engineers
Gathers information, makes studies, performs calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposal
Coordinates design criteria with engineering, tooling, material, and planning group in accordance with contractual specifications
Performs routine tasks under close supervision using well-defined standards and procedures
May assist supervisor in accomplishing field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems and communicate with client personnel
Has good understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered
Interacts with internal and client personnel
Site work and periodic travel required
Minimum 2 year degree in a design or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
1-5 years of relevant Drafting-Design and/or Piping Design experience required
Proficient use of AutoCAD software required
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Other design software's such as MicroStation/REVIT/AutoCAD Plant 3D/Navisworks preferred
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) preferred
