Description of Job
This announcement will remain open until filled.
This position independently performs a range of tasks related to work involved in the fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance and repair of gas, steam, air, refrigeration, or plumbing fixtures, equipment, pipes, fittings, and controls.
A summary of the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Pipe and Plumbing Work
Preventative Maintenance
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
At least three years of experience in Commercial Pipe and Plumbing Work and Preventative Maintenance OR appropriate education or successful completion of a formalized apprenticeship program will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
The exceptional candidate will possess the proven ability or accomplishment in the following preferred qualifications:
Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position
At least five years of experience in Commercial Pipe and Plumbing Work and Preventative Maintenance
Current backflow testing certification
Experience with steam heating piping systems
Journeymen Level Plumbing License or higher
Conditions of Employment:
A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
Travel as needed
Shift Work: Must be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift
