Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individuals to fill the position of Pipeline Technician within our Permian EOR group based in Odessa.
Under minimal supervision, the Pipeline Technician will be responsible for:
Daily operations, maintenance, reporting, and surveillance of DOT regulated Transmission gas pipelines.
Indirectly oversee and guide the activity of contractors including, but not limited to: instrument technicians, roustabouts, mechanics, electricians, designers, engineering technicians, and other contract personnel
Perform energy control on a wide variety of equipment types, sizes, and configuration
Prepare thorough job plans, isolation plans, and energy control plans for complex maintenance and construction operations performed during plant turnarounds
Provide direction and stewardship of contractors involved in the construction & maintenance of DOT pipelines
Respond to "One-Call" notifications, mark pipelines, participate in job-walks, etc. as needed
Read, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain gas & liquid measurement equipment.
Strong understanding of DOT, NEC, OSHA compliance regulations and API / ASTM Standards
High level of technical knowledge in the electrical, communications, instrumentation control field.
High level of technical knowledge in facilities data control, metering (volumetric and mass measurement) equipment.
Operation of both portable and stationary gas analyzing instrumentation.
Ability to interpret regulations, determine impact on pipeline/terminal operations and assist with implementation of compliance.
Initiate and follow through on the MOC or "Management of Change" process by completing forms, seeking concurrence, cooperating with the PSM/DOT Coordinator, Engineer, and Production Coordinator(s) as needed to safely execute changes in DOT Pipelines and Facilities.
Use computers to operate SCADA systems, participate in CBT/WBT education, check email, utilize CMMS (Maximo), research solutions on the internet/intranet
Safely drive and operate a 4-wheel drive automobile
Train & mentor less experienced Technicians and contractors
Respond to callouts and overtime as needed to perform the above
Other roles & duties as determined by the supervisor
3 years of directly applicable experience with little or no supervision on facilities and/or pipelines
High School Diploma or GED
Strong personal commitment to a clean and safe work place
Team player, self-starter, committed to excellence
Basic math skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Clean DMV and valid CDL
Basic computer skills
Some experience or training in an energy-related industry
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, night shifts, and/or rotating shifts as needed
Strong technical and/or mechanical aptitude
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
Certificate of completion/graduation from a relevant trade or vocational training center
Bi-lingual a plus
DOT Pipeline Operator Qualifications to fit above
Previous certification as a PSM-qualified operator of a "PSM-covered facility"
HAZWOPER certification: Awareness, Operations, or Technician level
DOT, CSFM, DOGGR Pipeline integrity management program accountability
Proficiency in a wide variety of computer applications
Technical/engineering or industrial construction background
