The Pipeline Engineer position is a direct-hire position working for HGA at our office in either Ruston or Shreveport, LA.
PIPELINE ENGINEER POSITION SUMMARY
The Pipeline Engineer performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations under the supervision of Pipeline Engineering Manager. Pipeline Engineer provides technical management assistance on projects. Assist in budgeting, man-powering, scheduling and forecasting projects.
PIPELINE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs pipeline design calculations
Supports design functions and review drawings
Pipeline Engineer prepares/reviews pipeline drawing packages, including, but not limited to P&IDs, Alignment Sheets, Isometric Drawings, BOMs
Participates in the planning and implementation of projects
Assists in defining project scopes, goals and deliverables
Pipeline Engineer assists in defining project tasks and resource requirements
Assists in developing full scale project plans
Assembles and coordinate project staff for specific tasks
Pipeline Engineer manages small project or task budgets
Manages project resource allocation for assigned tasks
Assists in planning and scheduling project timelines
Pipeline Engineer tracks project deliverables using appropriate tools and reports to Project Manager
Provides limited direction and support to project team
Provides Quality Assurance / Quality Control on deliverables
Pipeline Engineer monitors and reports progress of the project/assigned tasks
Presents reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
Assists in managing project changes
Assists in project set-up
Assists with development of proposals under the supervision of a Project Manager
PIPELINE ENGINEER EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, i.e., Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Construction Management, Petroleum Engineering.
Minimum 3-7 years of experience as a Pipeline Engineer preferred
Experience in the Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Chemical Industry field is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Windows, MS outlook, MS Excel, MS Word.
PIPELINE ENGINEER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to react promptly and efficiently to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to elicit cooperation from a variety of sources including team members, subcontractors, and other departments.
Ability to bring projects and tasks to successful completion through political sensitivity.
Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and presentation skills.
Customer service skills an asset.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Ability to delegate and manage time and resources efficiently.
Capability to conduct research into project-related issues and products.
Capability and willingness to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
