Position Overview: The Pipe Welder will be responsible for welding and fitting parts per drawings, specifications and work instructions. This will include:

  • Weld repair and Fabricate steel and stainless-steel castings utilizing GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW processes.

  • Reading blueprints and customer specifications and/or drawings preferred

  • Layout and construct parts according to drawings

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated years of experience in welding with steel and stainless steel utilizing GMAW, SMAW, GTAW and SAW practices required

  • Previous experience with Air Carbon Arc gouging process (preferred)

  • Ability to read blueprints, interpret work instructions and customer specifications (preferred)

  • Must be able to layout parts and components for sufficient fit-up to drawings and work instructions

  • Certifications preferred: ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1/ D1.4 for steel, AWS D1.6 for Stainless Steel, Dual Shield Certified (FCAW), Mig (GMAW) & Tig (GTAW)

  • Ability to work with limited direct supervision

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years proven experience in welding and fabrication with steel and stainless-steel utilizing GMAW, SMAW, GTAW and SAW processes

  • Prefer previous experience in aluminum welding with GTAW and GMAW

  • Previous experience with Air Carbon Arc gouging process preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be able to read Welder Specification Procedures (WPS), Fabrication documents, and interpret work instructions.

  • Ability to weld in 1G, 2G, 3G, and 6G positions

  • Must be able to document work on daily Labor Tickets.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to use arms, hands, legs and feet in repetitive motions

  • Must have the ability to change between sitting, standing, and kneeling positions

  • Must have the ability to twist, stoop, bend, and stand in the performance of job duties

  • Must have the ability to climb ladders or work at heights periodically

  • Must have the ability to lift and carry 65 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds continuously

  • Must have the ability to stand and walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for the duration of the work shift

  • Must have good vision and depth perception

  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment

  • Must be able to withstand hot temperatures

  • Must be able to wear required respirators

Pay Range: $22.63 - $34.47/hr (plus $1 shift differential pay)

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 3:30PM to 12:00AM
