Supports PIP adjusters with administrative support relating to the set up and ongoing handling of personal injury claims.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service and handles incoming/overflow phone calls; provides customers updates with claims.

  • Establishes initial claims files and assign suits/arbitrations to adjusters.

  • Performs administrative tasks (sends out and request for medical and lost/wage verification documents, settlement letters, defense package preparations and checks, copies files, handles mails, and performs data entry).

  • Orders credit histories and inputs ISO data.

  • Locates and ensures proper maintenance of closed files.

  • Processes payments and tracks bills awaiting payment from oldest to newest and reports results weekly.

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and with claims software programs preferred.

Experience / Education:

  • High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred

  • One or more years claims handling experience preferred.
