Position Summary

The Hourly Pilates Instructor will be hired within Life Time and complete their 120 day onboarding within their club. During this time, they will be responsible for completing weekly education and training and hitting monthly productivity goals. The Hourly Pilates Instructor is also responsible for providing various Pilates training services that offers members programs to maximize workout efficiency, improve fitness, increase stamina, enjoy their fitness experience and improve overall sense of well-being. A Pilates Instructor will engage with members through complimentary Pilates sessions, workshops, and fee based Pilates services like Pilates Fundamentals, and 1 on 1 Pilates Sessions. Pilates Instructors attend team meetings, educational workshops and all other Personal Training department activities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops safe, professional and comprehensive Pilates training programs to ensure clients are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal fitness goals

  • Monitors and instructs clients during Pilates training sessions on the safe and effective use the equipment

  • Conducts fitness consultations for new clients including pre-participation screening and goal setting to assess and recommend Pilates training programs

  • Instructs both private and group Pilates classes

  • Promotes and sells Pilates training programs and classes, Group Fitness classes and Personal Training to members

  • Completes all administrative requirements associated with each client's fitness plan

  • Maintains the cleanliness of the Pilates studio

  • Remains current on certifications and new trends in the industry

  • Educates members on current health and fitness issues and trends

  • Reads, watches, and engages in all required trainings associated with the role

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 year of personal training experience

  • Experience in Pilates program design

  • Certified Pilates Trainer

  • CPR and AED Certified

  • At least 6 months Experience in adjusting body alignment, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrel equipment

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Requirements

  • College degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine or other related field

Provide members and guests with a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience. Examples of Duties 1.Provide safe and effective swim lessons to members and guests. Prevent accidents and minimize or eliminate hazardous situations. 2.Provide emergency care and treatment to participants as necessary until the arrival of emergency medical services. Apply first aid and perform water rescues as necessary. 3.Enforce all safety rules and regulations of the aquatic facilities to patrons. 4.Adhere to all written mandatory standards of operation, policies, procedures, manuals, memos and oral instructions. 5.Administer aquatic services as set forth by the facility, including scheduling and teaching swim lessons, supervising groups activities and helping with other aquatic program activities. 6.Prepares and submits reports to include rescues and assists, accidents, and first aid to supervisor. 7.Attend mandatory training and in-service meetings. 8.Informs supervisor of all work-related activities. 9.Adheres to the personnel, safety, and divisional policies and procedures of the Town. 10.Assists co-workers and other divisions as needed. 11.Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED is preferred. CPR/First Aid and Water Safety Instructor Certifications are required. Must be at least 16 years of age. If you have a valid Texas driver's license, driving record must be in compliance with Town policy. Must submit to and pass a post-offer, non-regulated drug test and thorough background checks (including criminal history). Desired Qualifications Must have excellent leadership, organizational and communicative skills, both oral and written. To perform the essential functions of the job, must be able to perform strenuous physical activities to include running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs of various recreational and athletic equipment; to talk, see, hear, and read; to work in adverse environmental conditions; and to maintain an effective and pleasant working relationship with citizens, the general public, employees, and volunteers.
