Position Summary

Pilates Instructors are responsible for supporting all members in championing happier, and healthier lives by building and nurturing relationships. They provide a positive member experience that is educational, supporting, and upholds the integrity of the Life Time Brand.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive client programs that drive client goal achievement and retention

  • Monitors and instructs clients during Pilates training sessions on the safe and effective use the equipment

  • Conducts fitness consultations for new clients including pre-participation screening and goal setting to assess and recommend Pilates training programs

  • Instructs both private and group Pilates classes

  • Promotes and sells Pilates training programs and classes, Group Fitness classes and Personal Training to members

  • Completes all administrative requirements associated with each client's fitness plan

  • Maintains the cleanliness of the Pilates studio

  • Remains current on certifications and new trends in the industry

  • Educates members on current health and fitness issues and trends

  • Ensures all members feel competent, confident, and connected by providing superior customer service through complimentary and based services/programming

  • Documents all aspects of client programming

  • Remains current on credentials and continuing education to advance throughout the levels program

  • Provides fitness floor assistance to all members to ensure safety, provide education, and motivate members

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 year of personal training experience

  • Experience in Pilates program design

  • Certified Pilates Trainer

  • CPR and AED Certified

  • 6 months of experience in adjusting body alignment, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrel equipment

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Requirements

  • Degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine or other related field

We are currently hiring a Pilates/Reformer instructor to lead fitness Pilates/Reformer classes. Scope of Responsibilities: * Plans and instructs Pilates/Reformer classes, following YMCA standards and guidelines. * Sets up and takes down class equipment. Reports equipment problems. * Attends staff meetings and approved trainings as required. Maintain current certifications. * Observes and discusses individual progress with participants. Develops rapport with members and responds to questions related to fitness. * Ensures safe and effective workouts. Responds to, and reports, accidents and incidents. * Discusses and promotes all YMCA programs. Motivates members to commit to long term participation. * Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures. * Plans and implements a program in accordance with the goals and policies of the YMCA. Coordinates activities which are culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate. * Any additional duties as assigned. * Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor or the person responsible for those items at your site. * Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to managing visitors and guests at our facilities. * Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor. * Complete all child abuse prevention training as required. * Support the YMCA's mission and center operations as needed.
