Job Description:

The Distribution Center "DC" Picking Area Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing picking activities on a daily basis. This position is also responsible for managing associates in a multicultural environment while also being accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, assign, and oversee work schedules and assignments to ensure efficient picking operations.

• Track picking tasks to enforce timely fulfillment and monitor goal achievement through operational reports.

• Develop and implement improved picking processes to increase productivity.

• Train picking associates on all tasks and functions throughout the building.

• Ensure adherence to accuracy and compliance standards by communicating them and monitoring paperwork completion.

• Effectively communicate, motivate, supervise, coach, and discipline associates.

• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Enforce safety policies and procedures within the assigned area and address associate concerns.

• Coordinate with the Waving Coordinator on waves and categories for timely completion.

• Communicate picking priorities with other picking department shift leaders.

• Coordinate conveyor induction priorities with other area managers.

• Oversee other operational areas within the Distribution Center as needed.

• Oversee the hiring, firing, and promotion of other associates.

• Ensure timely completion of all reports (i.e., waves, floor reports).

• Assist with hiring, training, and mentoring team members. Coach and develop teammates for career progression, performance improvement, and recognition purposes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

• 3 or more years of experience in an RF Scanner environment is preferred.

• 2 or more years of experience motivating and leading a diverse workforce is preferred.

• Experience with warehouse management software systems is preferred.

• Effective communicator (written and verbal), bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.

• Frequent movement, bending, lifting, stretching, reaching throughout the picking area.

• Ability to remain stationary or mobile for extended periods (10-12 hours).

• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.

• Proficient in Warehouse management systems and Google platform (i.e., Sites, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets).

Work Environment:

• The warehouse environment is characterized by temperature extremes, noise, movement of conveyors and equipment, and other conditions associated with the operation of a high volume distribution center.

The salary range for this position is between $70,000-$75,000. Salary is commensurate with years of experience.
