Provides advanced customer service and support to internal staff and external clients in the areas of the Paychex Insurance Agency. Maintains a high level of knowledge concerning the products and services supported by the Paychex Insurance Agency. Assists external users of the technical products by answering question, solving problems involved with their use. Identifies, investigates and researches user questions and problems. Refers unresolved issues to technical or professional personnel for follow up as needed.

  • Researches and resolves product and service issues relative to the PIA suite of products from any internal/external clients. Ability to diffuse client concerns and notify management of critical situations to ensure the best solution is implemented for the client and Paychex.

  • Responsible for quality control audits of PIA processes and reporting results to the PIA supervisor and management team.

  • Updates and Maintains procedures and processes for the Agency.

  • Develops enhancements to existing or new processes and procedures, while making the necessary recommendations to management.

  • Utilizes multiple software applications in conjunction with carrier and bureau websites in order to respond to all client inquiries. Internal applications include HRIS (human resource information system) and Online Reporting System.

  • Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of Paychex Insurance Agency portfolio, corresponding systems, and internal/external processes to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Maintains and manages positive and professional relations with Paychex clients, insurance carriers, and internal/external clients to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Continues to stay abreast of all changes pertaining to various internal product offerings, regulatory changes, policy changes, and insurance industry developments in support of client satisfaction.

  • Participates in assigned projects or required training.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business or Finance - Preferred

  • 5 years of experience in Customer service/insurance.

  • Demonstrates customer service skills.

Primary Responsibilities: * Receive inquiries and support requests from users via telephone, email, and ticketing system * Create and manage tickets in ticketing system * Support a wide range of desktop software, including Microsoft Office, Nitro PDF, other third - party programs, and multiple internet browsers * Hardware support, including desktops, thin clients, laptops, iPads, smartphones, printers, scanners, desk phones, multimedia equipment, and wireless devices * Maintain and update IT knowledge base * Effectively communicates customer issues and concerns to all applicable internal staff members * Extensive work experience within own function * Work is frequently completed without established procedures * Works independently * May act as a resource for others * May coordinate others' activities Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED (or higher) * Must be available to work a scheduled shift between the hours of 6:00am and 5:30pm (AZ Time), Monday through Friday. There is some pre - approved overtime available and you may be asked to come in early, stay later, or come in on a typical day off for this. There will also be an "on call" shift that works on a two - week rotation. The "on call" shift will between the hours of 5:30pm to 6:00am, 7 days a week. There is an extra stipend on top of hourly pay for being on call * 6 months of experience with telephonic troubleshooting Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with Apple iOS, iPhones and iPads Soft skills: * Must be organized, dependable and detail - oriented * Must be able to meet deadlines and SLAs in a fast - paced, agile environment * Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work independently yet know when to seek additional support OptumRx isan empowering place for people with the flexibility to help create change.Innovation is part of the job description.
