Maine Medical Partners Hospital Medicine (MMP-HM) is seeking BC/BE Internal Medicine physicians for full-time, hospitalist opportunities within the non-profit MaineHealth system.# We have availability for general hospitalist work and in particular welcome candidates with a specific interest in medical education, perioperative medicine, oncology, or rural medicine.# We are also seeking interested nocturnist physicians and maintain competitive salary and scheduling for physicians who commit to regular nighttime coverage. The candidate will be joining MMP-HM, an organization within the broader practice group of Maine Medical Partners and Maine Medical Center.# MMP-HM now includes more than 45 hospitalists engaged on the frontlines of clinical care, quality improvement, and medical education.# The group includes leaders from across the organization, and supports the Internal Medicine Hospitalist Track within the IM Residency.# The group also works closely with advanced practiced professionals (NP/PA) in many aspects of care, and physicians will also have ready access to point of care ultrasound (POCUS) as part of their daily care. Maine Medical Center (MMC) is an academic medical center with 637 licensed beds and is the state#s leading tertiary care and teaching hospital and maintains a full complement of residencies and fellowships.


MMC is also an integral part of Tufts University Medical School


, helping to support the Tufts Maine Track program with more than 40 medical students per year participating in this program.# As such, candidates will have the opportunity of an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine and access to faculty development provided through the Tufts programs.# There are also significant teaching opportunities with internal medicine, medicine-pediatrics and family medicine residents, fellows and the medical students throughout the services centered at Maine Medical Center. Situated on the Maine coast, Portland offers the best of urban living combined with small-town friendliness.# The area provides four season recreational opportunities, such as skiing, hiking, boating, sailing, and miles of beautiful beaches.# Just two hours north of Boston, this is an exceptionally diverse and vibrant community.# These positions also provide interested candidates with the unique opportunity of spending a portion or the majority of their clinical time at Stephens Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital recognized by the Leapfrog Group in 2013, 2014, and 2015 as one of the top rural hospitals in the nation.# Stephens Memorial is also the first hospital to support a rural residency track in Internal Medicine and candidates will have the chance to work with these residents as well as a steady supply of rotating medical students from Tufts. VIEW JOBS 6/2/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-31T00:00 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant-Consultation Psychiatry at MMC The Department of Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center (MMC) is seeking a full time Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our psychiatric inpatient team in a variety of settings. We are seeking a flexible clinician to provide primarily tobacco cessation consults to patients throughout the hospital on medical/surgical floors, and also to provide general psychiatric consultations on one weekend day.# This clinician would join the Consultation Liaison (CL) service in the Department of Psychiatry which collaborates with the other Hospital Psychiatry Service, including a multidisciplinary neuropsychiatry Adult-Geriatric Inpatient Service and an Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU) located adjacent to the Emergency Department. #There is also significant collaboration with the primary medical/surgical teams and other consulting teams.# The PA/NP is responsible for ensuring that our medical/surgical inpatients receive safe, effective, evidence based care for their Tobacco Use Disorder as well as other mental health problems. Some responsibilities will include: Providing Tobacco Treatment counseling and nicotine replacement to all patients admitted to have a Tobacco Use Disorder Performing initial and follow-up psychiatric consultation evaluations for patients admitted to the medical/surgical floors. Helping to manage substance use disorders and withdrawal. Reviewing laboratory and ancillary studies.
