MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS

  • MDor DO from an accredited college or university

  • CurrentGeneral Surgical Board Certification or eligible

  • CurrentSurgical Critical Care Board Certification or eligible

  • CurrentIllinois Medical Board License or eligible

  • CurrentDrug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License

  • Currentand/or Eligible for an Illinois Control Substance License

  • Certifiedas an Advanced Trauma Life Support provider

  • CurrentHigh volume Level 1 Trauma Center experience at a large/complex Trauma Center

  • Recent experience in a certified Burn Center

  • One(1) year of resident and student education experience

  • Mustbe able to work flexible hours (24-30 hours in house 6-8 times per month onaverage including weekends and holidays; perform any necessary surgical orcritical care interventions necessary during that period)

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

  • Workingknowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel

  • Workingknowledge of EMR, PACS

  • Knowledgeof quality assurance principles and guidelines

  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with alllevels of staff and a patient population composed of diverse cultures and agegroups

  • Stronginterpersonal and empathy skills

  • Demonstrateclinical research skills and techniques for extracting and reportinginformation

  • Demonstrate analytical and organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict management/resolution skills

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced and stressful environment

  • Ability to function autonomously and as a team member in a multidisciplinary team

  • Abilityto work throughout the hospital in Resuscitation/Trauma Bay, Recovery Room,Trauma ICU, Specialty Clinic and Administrative Offices

Original credentialing documents must be presented attime of interview.

Must successfully meet the credentialing standards established by the

Cook County Health and Hospitals System to include a State of Illinois MDlicense and any other license, certification, or specialized training, etc. nolater than two (2) weeks prior to the candidate's start date
