The Physician Supervisor ensures the provision of medical evaluation and treatment services for the psychiatric patients at WMHI. The supervisor trains and supervises the medical physician assistants who evaluate and complete the medical databases, as well as the internists who manage the medical clinic, perform medical databases, and provide Medical Officer of the Day call 24/7 for the Institute. This position is also responsible for supervision of medical assistants and other support staff for the medical clinic.
Due to the nature of the position, all applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by WMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
Minimally qualified applicants must have:
Licensure to practice medicine in the State of WI and board certified in Internal Medicine.
Experience working with psychiatric patients with complex medical issues.
Knowledge and understanding of medical therapeutic examination techniques.
