Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for leading assigned searches and providing the hiring department/service/organization with high quality physicians. The position advises and collaborates with senior management regarding all aspects of physician recruitment.

The Physician Recruiter will develop and manage sourcing strategies and create a solid recruitment process to bring physicians into the organization in an effective and efficient manner. This position will be an extension of hospital leadership, the medical staff, hospital affiliated group practice and the Human Resources team. The physician recruiter will be a highly visible and accessible to his or her specific areas of responsibility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

Establishes her/himself as a business partner with leadership for assigned departments

Provides ongoing communication and involvement with assigned departments related to planning and implementation of the physician recruitment process.

Manage the full cycle recruitment process to include sourcing, recruitment and hiring efficiently and effectively

Represents and promotes the organization both positively and professionally

Involve and communicate with other internal and external teams to ensure a smooth process

Ensure a smooth transition from recruitment to new hire status by making a clean hand off to the on-boarding team

Sourcing

Create sourcing plans and budget with timelines and stakeholder accountabilities to address short and long term recruitment needs.

Develop effective recruitment strategies/campaigns for assigned searches.

Keep data current on all openings and potential candidates using software/database to maintain current information.

Create practice opportunity descriptions for open positions through information gathering efforts with the internal team and market intelligence for that physician specialty area.

Use of direct marketing, advertising, cold calling leads, and outbound email solicitation is targeted and achieves measureable results.

Attend appropriate career fairs, trade shows, and specialty meetings to create visibility for the organization and the openings.

Recruitment Management

Implement processes to ensure timely communication and handling of all candidates from application to offer.

Establish each position?s professional and cultural criteria to ensure the best fit for the position and organization.

Oversee the scheduling of on-site interviews, facilitate tours and meet-and-greet opportunities for candidate and spouse/partner.

Manage the offer process to a successful outcome.

Provide information and market research as needed to create market competitive offers.

Conduct thorough reference checks as requested or assure that references checks are complete when conducted by department directors or Chairs.

Monitor the offer process to ensure timeliness of responses and close rates.

Internal and External Integration

Effectively collaborates with all parties, internally and externally, that lead to a successful recruitment.

Work with respective practice and clinical services to determine the open position?s responsibilities and expectations and to set criteria for the ideal candidate.

Work with Human Resources to adhere to all policies and support the integrity and requirements of employment process.

Work with the marketing and communications function for the development of recruitment materials and advertising.

Work collaboratively with the Medical Staff Office and be knowledgeable of the credentialing process and requirements.

Involve critical stakeholders in greeting, touring and interviewing potential candidates.

At the conclusion of all successful hires, provide the onboarding team with all pertinent information. Follow up with the candidate once they have arrived to ensure all gatherings are being met, organizational promises made have been delivered upon, and the transition is going smoothly.

Utilize preferred vendors to augment the hospitals? services, such as hotels, realtors and/or moving services

Ongoing Development

Actively pursues learning and self-development as needed to more effectively perform responsibilities

Attend and participate in outside conferences and professional organizations to stay abreast of changing rules and regulations related to recruitment activities.

Seek out information on trends and industry changes that effect recruitment efforts.

Participate in efforts that contribute to the development of the organization, physician recruitment function and strategy.

Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Requires a minimum of a Bachelor?s Degree in business, healthcare administration, or public health administration from an accredited college or university; other health care equivalent experience will be considered

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

Physician Recruitment Certification preferred

Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of progressive healthcare experience, previous recruitment experience preferred

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Experience with physician practices, hospital services, operations, and recruitment practices. Understands the practice of medicine including physician training, credentialing requirements and other economic and clinical influences

About the Job The Recruiter serves as a strategic business partner responsible for defining open positions, attracting and hiring diverse, top talent, as well as, delivering metrics necessary to achieve "best in class" talent acquisition. The Recruiter partners with assigned department clients and other areas of Human Resources to design/ implement effective and creative recruitment plans. This person will provide recruitment services in a positive, timely, service oriented, cost efficient and effective manner. Recruitment services are delivered by working closely with hiring management to understand their business, proactively address their staffing needs, and provide Recruitment and Workforce Planning services to meet those needs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: * Responsible for consulting with department clients, to define short and long term staffing needs (based on succession planning, hiring forecast, expected/unexpected turnover and new program development). * Assists hiring managers with job analysis and job description development, including ensuring appropriate content, reviewing content and maintaining job description repository. * Conducts intake sessions with hiring managers to gain a thorough understanding and defines each open position, sets expectations and ensures alignment regarding key steps in the hiring process through the use of a service level agreement. * Develops and implements recruitment plans for assigned departments and/or key jobs that identify sourcing activities, project recruitment costs and take into consideration other issues that impact ability to recruit and retain qualified staff, including but not limited to, compensation and other labor market issues. * Prepares applicants for interviewing with specific hiring managers by providing detailed information regarding the job via job descriptions, department structure and the role within the organization. * Manages the qualification, interview and selection process. Recommends top 3-5 candidates for hiring manager interviews. Participates in post interview debrief/feedback with interview teams to ensure selection of the best candidate. * Manages candidates who are referred by internal employees to ensure a positive candidate experience for referred candidates. * Consults with management on hiring, promotion and transfer decisions including making recommendations, candidate selection and job offer terms. Determines and recommends new hire or transfer rates of pay considering internal equity, labor market issues, implications for other departments and health system compensation policy. Extends job offers to final candidates. * Define needed metrics, qualitative information and client feedback to project vacancies in assigned departments and/or key jobs for each fiscal year. Regularly produces and shares recruitment metrics for assigned client group on a regular basis. * Utilizes technology tools to facilitate recruiting, hiring and on-boarding processes. Ensures that information is entered, maintained, current and accurate in the Applicant Tracking System, including but not limited to, job posting content, candidate tracking, anecdotal information and other required data. * Builds relationships with peers, hiring managers and executives. * Trains and educates new directors/managers/supervisors on the staffing process. Education: * Bachelor degree in Business, Human Resources, Sales/Marketing or related discipline or related experience Experience: * Requires a minimum of 3-5 years' recruitment experience and other human resources disciplines as they pertain to recruitment including, compensation, benefits, HRIS, employee/labor relations, training and organization development). * Strongly prefer healthcare industry experience. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: * Experience with full scope staffing including knowledge of sourcing efficiencies, candidate assessment techniques and job offer negotiation skills. * Strong knowledge and application of Federal and State employment laws, regulations and legislation. * Experience utilizing structured candidate assessment methodologies (i.e. – behavioral based interviewing) for candidate selection. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, establish service level agreements to meet and exceed customer expectations. * Effective presentation skills. * Intermediate to advanced level computer skills including Microsoft Office - Outlook, or G Suite and PowerPoint, Excel and Word. * Experience with applicant tracking systems and other electronic recruitment tools. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, influencing, listening, fact finding and problem solving. * Exemplary organizational skills, flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and follow through on requests. * Ability to analyze using qualitative and quantitative information for decision support. * Ability to influence hiring management to move quickly in selection and offer stages to optimize the opportunity to hire top candidates.
