Demonstrates exemplary teamwork, service and overall knowledge of the BHMG revenue cycle from a patient access perspective. Serves as a preceptor for new hires.
Demonstrates service excellence and positive interpersonal skills in dealing with others including patients, families, employees, medical staff, volunteers and community members to maximize communication and productivity. Interacts and works cooperatively with patients and ancillary departments to assure patient satisfaction. This position may require deployment of legal, ethical and compliance related documents that must be presented and thoroughly explained to the patient at the time of registration.
The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining knowledge and deployment of practices used within the department as well as throughout the hospital to address patient questions or concerns. Serves as a registration resource and takes on a leadership role in the absence of a Manager/Supervisor.
High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED or equivalent training or experience required.
Associates degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Must have 4 years as a Patient Financial Representative or Physician Practice Patient Representative , or have extensive experience in the healthcare environment/registration. Proficiency in EMR and other practice management programs required. Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent customer service skills required.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines to include but not limited to HIPAA privacy and security rules and AHCA. Knowledge of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations, and pre-certification preferred.
Extensive knowledge of Medical Terminology. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Leadership skills a must. Minimum Required Experience: 4
