Summary:
The Physician Practice Manager supervises staff members of the physician offices. He/She is responsible for the productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment of the work groups.
The Physician Practice Manager demonstrates excellent customer service. He/She upholds the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant, and commits to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Responsibilities:
Models Covenant's Mission, Vision and Values of keeping our commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Has contact with patients in all age groups (neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) and is able to appropriately assess, care for and treat them according to the age appropriate care guidelines as defined by Covenant HealthCare.
Focuses staff on the accomplishment of Covenant's Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Business Plan.
Sets and achieves departmental targets/goals and creatively leads work group to accomplish them.
Creates and manages cost effective work within the practice to meet budget projections.
Works with staff and other managers to set benchmarks and monitors.
Works with Customer Service Coordinator to review/set Customer Service goals, benchmarks and review data.
Supervise multiple physician practices at various sites.
Supervise A/R and collections for practices.
Evaluates new and/or alternative equipment and supplies; working with asset specialist; conferring with sales representatives and related personnel.
Participates in cost control activities through an organized system of planning and monitoring the utilization of supplies and equipment.
Builds effective working relationships, and fosters a spirit of teamwork within the practice.
Provides all aspects of personnel management, including staffing, work assignments, scheduling performance evaluations, corrective action, policy development, motivation, etc., for clinical and clerical staff.
Mentors staff toward growth and development to enhance job responsibilities and accountability. Establishes and maintains working relationships with all staff of Covenant HealthCare, the medical staff and affiliated agencies
Contributes to organization success targets for net operating margin.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Business/Management.
Maintain competency by attending seminars and/or meetings, reading newsletters, reading journals, and participating in self-study. Must document a minimum of two (2) hours annually.
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a Manager or comparative role. Past physician practice management preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of standard clinical procedures and practices.
Familiar with the Revenue Cycle, including coding, billing, A/R, and collections.
Demonstrates the ability to problem-solve and prioritize staff/patient needs independently, efficiently and effectively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical skills and PC experience with spreadsheets.
Patient scheduling.
Proven ability to interact positively with staff, to motivate, and resolve problems effectively.
Time management and organizational skills. Self directed.
Ability to make quality, independent decisions.
Exercise sound judgment in difficult and sensitive situations.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
