Who We Are

Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is an Alaska Native-owned health care system providing a variety of services for 70,000 Alaska Native and American Indian people. SCF's internationally recognized, relationship-based model of care was created from our belief that the journey to health is a partnership and a responsibility shared between the patient and provider. The partnership extends beyond the individual, to the family, the community, and to the world in which we live.

The practice is embedded in the Anchorage Native Primary Care Center Specialty Pediatrics department with access to pediatrics, dietitians, behavioral health consultants, integrated pharmacists, in-house laboratory and radiology services, and community health resources support, as well as opportunities to collaborate with general pediatricians and pediatric specialists. While this full-time position is based in Anchorage, it includes a vast telehealth network as well as opportunities to travel to field clinics throughout rural Alaska.

Alaska Native families will be traveling to the pediatric neurology clinic by car, airplane, boat, snow machine, and other modes of transportation determined by the location of their home. To help with logistics, the robust nurse case manager system at SCF assists pediatric providers to help with getting children to and from their homes and with other logistics that are inherent in providing high quality pediatric care in Alaska. In addition, SCF employs pediatric neurodevelopment physicians, geneticists, and rehabilitation physicians to see children, many of whom are also seen in the pediatric neurology clinic.

This position will be directly connected to the Seattle Children's Division of Pediatric Neurology and the Level 4 Pediatric Epilepsy Center at Seattle Children's. There will be the ability to apply for academic regional teaching status at the University of Washington and participate in divisional teaching conferences.

Seattle Children's Pediatric Neurology will be available to expedite referrals for complex pediatric neurologic disorders as well as provide co-management of complex patients as requested. In addition, there is the opportunity for teaching of pediatric residents and fellows.

Our clinic team environment is one of the robust in the country.

Our data-driven, non-RV quantity means that compensation is salary-based, encouraging a practice focused on health, not quantity of patients.

Our integrated and accessible approach to primary care makes your job easier. Our specialty clinic coordinates patient care with integrated primary care teams that have access to multiple disciplines, including behavioral health, pharmacy, nutrition, case management to support the practice.
