MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, located in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a Neonatologist to serve our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the normal newborn nursery. This full-time position may require flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays. A typical month will be two (2) weeks of NICU service, one (1) week of nursery service, one (1) week of administrative time, (1) weekend on service and call as NICU attending, and 4-6 nights on call from home. Administrative time is meant for QI projects, resident, PA, and NNP student education, unit meetings and others.

Qualifications:

  • MD Licensure

  • Board certification in Pediatrics

  • Successful completion of a Perinatal/Neonatal Medicine Fellowship Program

  • Board certification or eligibility in Perinatal/Neonatal Medicine

  • BLS and NRP certification

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center is a brand new 23-bed, single room level III NICU that admits ~300 newborns a year and takes pride of having neonatal outcomes within the best quartile among Vermont Oxford Network reporting units in the U.S.

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Neonatology Job Duties: The Physician Assistant NICU is an independent health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients/participants. The NP educates patients/participants and/or their families in order to promote wellness, prevent health problems, maintain current health and intervene in acute or chronic illness. Our NICU is a 25-bed, Level III facility. We have a multi-disciplinary approach to direct patient care to a high-risk population including critically ill and/or extreme low birth weight neonates, use high frequency ventilation, iNO, and EEG as needed. The PA will attend high-risk deliveries (approx. 1,400 per year with 300 NICU admissions, and and average daily census of 15-18). There is no transport responsibility. 36 hours per week Rotating Shift (self scheduling) Weekend Work Required Education: Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completeion of a Bachelor's degree in a Physician Assistant Program or closely related field. Licensure: Maryland License as a Physician Assistant. Completion of a signed Physician Assisant job description as required and approved by the State of Maryland.
