Location: The Polyclinic Madison

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

As a member of Polyclinic's health care team, provide high quality, cost effective healthcare to patients in a personalized managed care setting collaborating with clinic physicians when indicated. His or her communication, conduct and performance should support the Polyclinic's efforts in becoming High Performance Organization.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Extra hours based on patients' needs (early/late office hours, hospital coverage, weekend coverage)

  • May require lifting patients

  • Willingness to conduct/train for circumcisions

  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests

  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings

  • Willingness to provide lactation consultation for patients

  • Provide prenatal, postpartum, family planning and gynecological care

  • Demonstrates superior clinical judgment and clinical skills to function in an independent role

  • Demonstrates professional, collaborative, and respectful relationships with other providers

  • Adheres to all established safety policies, procedures, and precautions

  • Demonstrates understanding of procedures, policies, and documentation required to ensure compliance with all TPC standards of care

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required by the department/division

Skills:

  • Ability to take medical history to assess medical condition and interpret findings

  • Ability to independently provide patient exams and prescribe treatments

  • Ability to perform office procedures independently

  • Possess critical thinking skills to assist him/her in making decisions in prioritizing daily activities related to patient care and office flow.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinic and medical staff, and the public

  • Possess and use good oral and written communication skills.

  • Understand and deliver quality customer service that is consistent with the Polyclinic's efforts in becoming a High Performance Organization.

  • Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment, and in occasional difficult situations.

  • Communication, conduct and dress portray a professional quality at all times.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Successful completion of an accredited and Medical Quality Assurance Commission approved Physician Assistant Training Program

Or

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program, preferably at the master's level

Certification and licensure:

  • Current Washington State Physician Assistant license.

  • Certification from a national certifying body related to area of practice (preferred)

  • Current prescriptive authority in the state of Washington

Or

  • Current Washington State RN and ARNP licenses

  • Certification from a national certifying body (ANCC)

  • Current prescriptive authority in the state of Washington

And

  • Lactation consultant certification preferred or willingness to go through training program to be certified.
  • ACLS preferred

Experience:

  • Prefer two to three years of professional experience as a Physician Assistant in an area directly related to the position

Or

  • Three years of professional experience as a nurse practitioner in an area directly related to the position.

Neighborcare's Magnuson Clinic, which opened summer 2019 is located in the new Mercy Magnuson Place affordable housing development in Magnuson Park. The clinic is a "pocket clinic," with one provider, one medical assistant and one patient service representative, as well as a part-time behavioral health provider. Patients will be all ages, living in transitional and other affordable permanent housing on the campus, and surrounding community. Ideal candidates for this position will be interested in joining a small, collaborative team, and creating a healthcare home where patients feel welcome and receive excellent care.
