Within the Physician Assistant (PA)/Physician relationship, the PA will exercise autonomy in medical decision making and services provided.

The PA will also assist in educating healthcare students, as they rotate through the respective departments and divisions and will assist in research endeavors as appropriate. This position reports to the Medical Director within the UI Community Clinics, Lead APP of QuickCare and Lead APP within UI Community Clinics. Must be able travel to five QuickCare locations (North Liberty, Coralville, Iowa City-Sycamore Mall & Old Capital Mall, and Mormon Trek). Work hours range from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Monday - Friday, Weekends 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.EDUCATION REQUIRED:Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and certification by the NCCPA.REQUIRED

Qualifications:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills preferred.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage acutely ill patient population (of all ages) within a highly functioning unit/department.Proved capacity to function with a high degree of autonomy while actively collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment.DESIRED
