Position Details:
The Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant (IR PA) is responsible for providing competent medical care in accordance with the professional scope of practice. The IR PA is expected to perform hospital consults and rounds, take patient's history, perform physical examinations, perform radiologic procedures (within scope of practice) under the supervision of a licensed Radiologist, treatment planning within the scope of practice and interpret physical, psychological and preventive health data to determine patient's needs and problems. Able to prescribe medications as allowed by scope of practice and pharmacy formulary. The IR PA collaborates with Radiologists in the promotion and provision of healthcare.

Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistants Role Scope:
Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.
Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider's practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
BS/MA in Physician Assistant Studies, Health Science or Medical Science
Minimum 2 years' experience Interventional Radiology Services
Current State of CT PA License
Board Certified or eligible requirement
State of Connecticut Fluoroscopy certificate
Successful credentialing by insurance payers and medical staff offices
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
