Physician Assistant Or Nurse Practitioner/Specialty [MU Orthopaedics]

SUMMARY:# This position will work with the surgeons, and may document verbal or telephone orders, as well as progress notes in both the hospital and clinic EMR.# He/she will perform assessments on new admissions, consults, patients presenting to the emergency department, and make rounds on established patients.# Responsible for intervention, performing procedures, and providing patient education congruent with the medical plan of care.# This position requires call when the surgeon is on call.# This includes outpatient clinic assessment, inpatient/emergency assessment, and first assistant duties for orthopedics in the OR.# In addition, this position requires interpersonal skills to relate to the surgeon, patient, family members, ancillary personnel, and hospital personnel in a professional and appropriate manner Nurse Practitioner: Required Experience:# Minimum one (1) year hospital or clinic-based Nurse Practitioner experience Required Licensure/Certification/Registration:# Current Missouri Registered Professional Nurse; Current Missouri Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Status; BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).#Must have or be willing to obtain DEA.

Required Education:# Master#s degree in Nursing Physician Assistant: Required Experience:# Minimum one (1) year hospital or clinic-based Physician Assistant experience Required Licensure/Certification/Registration:# Current Physician Assistant licensure.#Must have or be willing to obtain DEA. Preferred Experience:# Previous orthopedic experience

Nurse Practitioner:

Required Experience: Minimum one (1) year hospital or clinic-based Nurse Practitioner experience

Required Education: Master's degree in Nursing

Physician Assistant:

Required Experience: Minimum one (1) year hospital or clinic-based Physician Assistant experience

Required Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Physician Assistant licensure. Must have or be willing to obtain DEA.

Preferred Experience: Previous orthopedic experience
