Liberty Healthcare is accepting applications for available full-time, part-time and moonlighting positions at the Riverview Psychiatric Center in Augusta, Maine.
The Riverview Psychiatric Center is a modern Joint Commission accredited 92-bed psychiatric hospital which primarily serves adults who have serious and persistent mental illness. The Hospital is operated by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. Selected members of the hospital medical staff work through a collaborative arrangement with Liberty Healthcare.

After-hours clinical services at the Riverview Psychiatric Center are managed by Liberty Healthcare. This includes the presence of Physician Assistants onsite at the hospital during weekday evenings, overnights and Saturdays and Sundays.
Weekdays shifts are 16 hours in duration - from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Weekend shifts are 24 hours in duration, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
During hospital shifts, Physician Assistants are responsible for:
Remaining on-grounds at the hospital for the duration of the shift
Rounding on hospital units seeing patients and consulting with nurses and unit staff
Primarily providing primary care and very limited psychiatric care to patients
Admitting new patients to the hospital including conducting medical histories and physicals as well as basic mental status examinations
As necessary, conferring with on-call Psychiatrist and referring to the local ER
As a Physician Assistant working part-time or on an occasional basis, you can expect:

Qualified candidates will possess an active Maine Physician Assistant license. Prior psychiatric / mental health experience is not required.
